"I have a 2 Mbps ADSL connection and a 500 Mbps fiber connection. It's strange that when I connect to the same server under the same conditions, my 2 Mbps ADSL connection is more stable. My ping is higher, double in fact, but the connection is stable. When I connect with the fiber, I have a much better ping, but it takes longer to load map data and I usually get a server timeout error. When I do manage to log in, I constantly get black chunks when I move around. I've run a ping -t in the console to the server and it doesn't show a single packet lost. My fiber connection works perfectly in all other areas, it only fails with project zomboid and on some servers I do better than others. I would like to know what I should demand from my ISP because I don't know how to explain myself. What do you think is happening?"

are both connections passing through the same gateway/router to your pc?
Given the description, my first suspicion is some QoL setting on the router for the fiber connection is de-prioritizing udp traffic because it thinks it's streaming traffic
PC is connected directly to ONT
Is this something I can fix or should ask to my ISP
yea I'm not familiar with how your ISP must be set up, maybe they do throttle 'streaming' connections, which PZ might look like since it's using udp?
I can't really think of a good test right now
something to test latency on udp somehow
¯_(ツ)_/¯
out of my realm of experience I'm afraid
I think you should contact your internet provider about it. You can just explain your situation that you are able to connect to a server when using the weaker internet, but not when using their own service
Since that would imply there is something specifically wrong on their side, because the issue cannot be due to the game or the PC if it does not happen on a different network
