Does anyone know how to fix this problem when joining a modded server?

Is it your own server? Can you join other servers?

My friend is experiencing this issue. He can join on some servers without any problems, but on other servers, he only gets a black screen. Although he can hear in-game sounds and I can see him on the map, his screen remains black. After a while, his game stops responding and eventually crashes.

Can you share his logs.zip file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?

The file seems to be corrupted unfortunately, I would suggest deleting that file from the Zomboid folder

#

And instead, can your friend share the console.txt file after joining a server where he gets the black screen?

#

It should contain sufficient logs for now

Has he sent this right after getting the black screen?

Hi, can you check this?

This one is good, however it just seems to show a problem with the "Cataclysm: dark days ahead - Occupations" mod before the black screen

#

The rest of the log seems fine

#

Do all the servers he is unable to join have this mod?

#

Since he might have picked a corrupted occupation as an example

There is a server where they use Hairburg map mod with CDDA before, he was able to join at that time. The server used it again right now and he is unable to join.

Hi, although this is a not connected with the topic at hand. Is it advisable to use no more culling mod on server side?

I personally do not advise Java based mods

We tested with vanilla occupation and with no traits. He still got black screen and crashed.

Hm, I might suggest trying a clean reinstall in this case...

#

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.

After that, go to the Steam Workshop page for the game and unsubscribe from all mods, there is a button for that when you go to My Subscriptions

Then just install the game again and see if that helps.
