removed all mods, reinstalled, flushed DNS deleted some stuff played around with ports and network nothing worked for me, would appreciate if someone would help
Can you try doing a full reinstall?
First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.
still the same @grizzled oracle
Very weird, usually a reinstall fixes this specific error..
Can you try launching the game using the Alternate Launch option?
still @grizzled oracle i haven't played Zomboid for a long while, yesterday when i installed the game, a pop up came up to allow the game through firewall and all that, i allowed it and it let me access the server i wanted to play on (dawn of the dead) then i waited until the download finishes for the mod, joined the game created the charecter but there was an issue, in their discord they said it was getting ddosed so i ended up in a black screen. closed the game, waited for a while, tried to rejoin and then just the error in the bottom right pops up (error 1) and remains on the connecting to server the whole time
when i join a server through steam servers it doesnt work even other servers than dawn of the dead, but if i join like vanilla server (in game > internet) it allows me to join them
just in case you need the logs
Can you share the latest “hs_err_pid” file found in your main game folder “Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid”?
cant find a file with that name @grizzled oracle
That is weird, usually with these types of crashes as shown in the log it should be created.
In that case, can you check the Windows Reliability monitor for any ProjectZomboid application crashes there? If you do find any, can you share a screenshot of the Technical Details section so we can check the errors that show up there?

there isnt anything relating to zomboid, i think this is a connection/network issue it would connect to servers when i start the game from steam and servers that can be found in game. as when i try from View > Game servers or even from battle metrics website i cant connect to any server, opens the game, asks for username and pass, confirm and it just remains on Contacting server
Do you have any sort of Antivirus installed in that case? One that may block the game.
