#No loot spawning

Got a bit of an issue I'm running into again. My roleplay server started pre-apocalypse so to help balance loot I started the server with no loot spawns and forced players to utilize an economy to obtain items.

Now that the apocalypse has come and gone, we went to turn loot spawns back on but have ran into the issue where any cell that was loaded before loot was reactivated is stuck on not spawning loot.

The likely culprit is because of the condition that a container has to be looted first before it can respawn. However if a container is empty infinite can never be looted. I ran this issue with a few cells last season, and I tried filling it with loot and reloading it, but it did not work.

I'm wondering if there are any workarounds for this issue.

What are your loot settings exactly set to? And does the loot respawn correctly in the other containers?

On first launch, Insanely rare to rare. Things such as clothes are rare, guns and food is insanely rare. Everything else extremely rare.

Then set to no loot before people left Rosewood, where it remained until Friday, where it was set back to rare.

Loot spawns were set to hourly in game, in hopes it would repopulate the empty containers. Max number is set to 8, hours seen is set to 0.

Everything within the same cell as the highway in muldraugh is empty, but if you travel away from it (aka, places people haven't gone before I turned on loot), you'll find loot which respawns every 10m irl since an hour passes.

Hm, this could be a bug in that case, thinking of how to reset the zones

#

I would recommend you first backup the server and then go to the save folder and delete the "chunkdata" files there

#

Then test the loot respawn again

Will try that soon, thank you

Alright well, that didn't really work cuz there were hundreds of thousands of files, and it nearly bricked the server trying to delete all of them.

#

We're just going to have to wipe early, at this rate. Is there a way to preserve characters and their inventories?

I assume you were using FTP? It is generally not recommended to use that for large file deletions

#

I would recommend just using the shell access if you have it

As for your question, you will need to preserve the players.db and the WorldDictionary files in the save folder to keep characters
