mods not in mods folder but are installed on steam

I keep unsubscribing and resubscribing to mods, and they install fine but i do not know where they install to and when i check the mods folder, i only see the example mod folder. why can i not find any of my mods? theres tons i have

there is 2 versions of Project Zomboid

• Gog version https://www.gog.com/game/project_zomboid
• Steam version

First one can only use mods in \mods\ folder and connect only to non steam server
Second can do both but store mods in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600 (by default)
You can find all your subscribed mods in subfolder here
