#Crazy Low FPS

Having some stutter issues that RAM allocation didnt fix? Time to dump your graphics settings into the dirt (dont worry, its an isometric game, you wont notice a difference)...

NOTE: These below changes are only the most relevant ones for performance. If you want to tweak other settings or the ones below, feel free to. Not every setting is listed in this tag command.

  1. Open Project Zomboid
  2. At the main menu, selection Options
  3. Select the Display tab
  4. Now we are going to go section by section in this menu... (applicable sections only)

UI
a) Check "UI offscreen rendering"
b) Change "UI Rendering FPS" to 20 or less

Textures
a) Uncheck "Texture Compression"
b) Check "Double Sized Textures"
c) Change Max Texture Size to 256
d) Change Max Vehicle Texture size to 256
e) Change "Simple Clothing Textures" to zombies only
f) Check the box for "Simple weapon textures"

Rendering and Performance
a) Check the box for "Tiered Zombie Updates"
b) Change blood decals to 50% or less
c) Uncheck "Corpse Shadows"
d) Change lighting quality to medium or less
e) Change dynamic skybox to "No"
f) Change water quality to low
g) Change dynamic puddles to none
h) Change puddle quality to low
i) Uncheck the box for "environment reflections"
j) Change render rain and snow to outdoors only
k) Change fog quality to medium
l) Change search mode overlay effect to "use desaturation only"

Cap your FPS as well

Usually 60fps is fine

I have changed all settings to their lowest settings, it doesn't change a thing. I have a top end pc, even on max settings I should never get 6fps

I was and then I tried without too.

restarted the game today and get 400+ fps on max settings.... very weird.
Still have really low usage on my cpu and gpu though

i got a pretty beefy pc and im getting low fps and was looking around for fixes
