Been playing on a MP I host. Just tried to load it up and it's wiped, new character build from the get. What the hell happened and can I do anything?

Nope, just quit out as normal and next time loading up it asked me to install mods (nothing new on the list), and then prompted me to pick a spawn location and do character creation

#

just total reset

Do you have low space on your hard drive by chance then?

hot kernel
#

Nope, my drive has 111gb free

#

What is the mods list then?

hot kernel
#

ones on there i havent got: profession framework, no vanilla vehicles, moodle framework, just some hairstyles, entertain yourself, descriptive tooltips for skill levels, custom consumption, container tags, '89 dodge caravan,
Building Menu - Dylan Tiles Addon, Building Menu - Simon MDs Tiles Addon

#

(ongoing list hence not having them all in game right now)

#

we added mods with a link to the collection, vs selecting individually

This creates issues on mp servers

hot kernel
#

really? enough that it could've messed it and reset?

unkempt anchor
#

I havent seen it do that

But ive seen it crash servers

hot kernel
#

hmm, okay

unkempt anchor
#

So i always advise people to not run it

hot kernel
#

never had a problem with it before but can remove it

#

would renaming the server/server settings have any impact?

unkempt anchor
#

So you dont have any log info pointing to a crash or failed save?

unkempt anchor

#

Okay, thats good to know. I loaded it before renaming anything and it had the issue

#

And then renamed it so probably proper borked it

#

But it was reset before doing that

unkempt anchor
#

Hmm

One moment

hot kernel
#

In the Logs folder i assume?

unkempt anchor
#

Well did you find your saves and multiplayer folder

hot kernel
#

Oh i didnt even know that was there

#

I see folders for the originally named one

#

(never looked at these before, not sure what im looking for)

unkempt anchor
#

If you change the hosted name to the originally name save file, it should restore everything

hot kernel
#

Okay let me try

#

It worked! Oh thank god

#

I still dont get why it reset before I did any renaming

#

but thats incredibly helpful information

unkempt anchor
#

Glad to have helped

Sorry for the lead on with the other questions, was working with the assumption a name change hasnt occurred

hot kernel
#

no of course - we were under the assumption it made no difference

#

so knowing that is pretty vital too haha
