#the most progress ive ever made (im pretty new), cleared a whole neighborhood block in 3 days!

also theres a bar on the outskirts towards the top of town if you need to ever unwind 🫡
currently stuck in a house with a lot of zeds outside and only a chefs knife so i think i might be a bit screwed
might have to wait it out but no food or anything in the house
if theres any clothing in the house you could right click and turn them into sheet ropes, place them upstairs out a window and have an escape rope. just make sure to yell at the front of the house or something to lead them away from said rope
nah its one of the houses that are completely empty lol
chose the worst house to hide in
damn rip, i mean yea id probably just wait it out if i were you or straight up just run through them away, you'd be surprised how close you can run by zombies and not get hurt
like this lol
dif format first one was a mkv lol
i also forgot to mention my character is exhausted or whatever its called so no running for me
f, def just fast forward through night while sitting on the ground then head for the trees in my op xd
Clearing a whole neighborhood with commercial properties next to it is no joke! Solid work my friend. You should have enough supplies to survive and a clear area to escape into when things get rough now.
you would think, i found no weapons except chef knives, and am waiting to dump my backpack at the fire station before collection food so uh. besides water im pretty much just full on bandages, books, and other random stuff
Yeah, you're unlikely to find weapons in an area like that unless you come across metal pipes or bars in garages. I was thinking other supplies like food, water and meds.
You'll need to explore more, but this is a solid start for taht!
agreed, was gonna mention garages, they usually have crowbars or pipes yee
Crowbars and pipes are great weapons. Certainly better than hand to hand combat which is how I assume you cleared most of this 😄
update: i got to a house with actual stuff in it, regrouping and then heading to fire station
might still be screwed though, usually play with water and electricity shutoff date at 6-12 months cause i dont think that part of the game looks all that fun, plus not something i want to deal with early game when i have like nothing. but i forgot to change the setting until just now so water already shutoff in some places
and my map just glitched so things are going swimmingly
Ouch, yeah there aren't really a lot of water sources in that area. Maybe someone will correct me with the location of a nearby well. There's a lake outside of town but it's not what I would call walking distance.
The fire station isn't too far away from you and should yeild some protective clothing and melee weapons at the very least.
with how far i had to run to escape zombies its a decent trek to fire station, although i think im just gonna try and stealth it and if i get caught ill run there
hopefully not all the water sources shut off
Once you get up to the top two houses on the left it's just jumping the fence. But the intersection above the fire station as well as the police station will probably have quite a few zeds. Careful and methodical.
And ofc the fire station itself is most likely crowded.
got to the station, zeds banging on the door tho
hopefully theres an axe i can use
thank god there was
seems the zeds may have given up too
Take them down before they break down the door! Last time I was killed it was for being too complacant inside a fire station. They were knocking and I was looting thinking I could just jump out window at the back and get away. They broke down the door and suddenly I got a jump scare cause there were 8 zeds right behind me (I had a broken leg so running wasn't an option).
If they're not knocking any more they're inside. Careful!
luckily for me i had a mod that made it so they have a chance not to break the door, 2 got in but the door still stands so i think im safe
yeah
alright well im going to bed while things are going well, secured the station, fully rested, no injuries
I found that mod a bit scary, but I'll have to give it a shot. I like that they break down doors in a somewhat predictable fashion but it'd add another layer if it wasn't predictable.
Good job! That'll be a solid base for you!
probably gonna work on metalworking and capentry skills tomorrow to barricade
just glad i went from staying in houses to being able to (hopefully) secure a whole station
You should have at least one axe now. Maybe a few nails from looting the hood? Getting it secured should be half a days work ingame.
i got an axe, no nails or wood though since i dropped them due to heavy weight encumbering my alreadt extremely weak character
no torch or mask either so
guess im going on a supply run tomorrow
There are trees, presumably you have a saw and dismantle things you wont need will yield nails as well.
Good luck tomorrow! Keep us updated
good to know, luckily the house i spawned in had a carpentry show on so i have at least one level, and 2 metal working from traits
thanks! will do (most likely in a new post)
I'm not 100% on which shows are on when, but Life and Living broadcasts a lot of shows that increases different skills for the first two weeks or so. Carpentry, fishing, foraging and farming iirc. At 12, 3, 6 and 9. More or less around the clock. Like I said I'm not 100% on which shows are on when, but those are times you'll want to be in front on a TV early on and if you find skill books for those read them immediately for the extra bonus.
will do, thanks for the tip
i died
ay that's okay!
death in this game only teaches you
and gives you new oppertunity's! well that's how I see it, every new character is just a new adventure
ive had a lot of adventures then
Most people who have accomplished great things in this game have hundreds or thousands of hours! You should regard your accomplishment quite highly
Oh no, what happened?
Don't sweat it though. I'm approaching 1000 hours and probably around 100 deaths by now and even more restarts just because I feel I've achieved what I need to survive for ever. Even now my most recent death was two days ago and I learned something new. As long as you learn something it's not a mistake.
got overwhelmed
tbh ive gone down from survivor back to builder, idk why but it feels like the amount of zombies goes up by 100x when i switch from builder to survivor. there was never an area zombies werent at so i always got seen, and they killed me everytime
plus i started losing motivation to play so i thought id move down
Try sandbox and make your own rules.
I personally like high zombie count from day one and no respawns. What I clear stays cleared and what I kill stays killed.
yeah ive been trying out different zombie populations and been doing no respawn
I know many out there have made custom settings for simple scenarios, so if you wanted could havei t like the walking dead zombies, last of us, or full on nightmare hell sprinting zombies lmao.
