@cyan warren I've keep triying looking for that file but didn't found it

cyan warren
#

Can you share a screenshot of the Zomboid folder in that case?

crimson rose
#

k

#

cyan warren
#

That is not the Zomboid folder

Thanks, can you try finding the "28-11-2023_11-15-23" folder in your User/Zomboid/Saves folder? In all the subfolders

#

Also check if the folder is empty or not

crimson rose
#

Okk, i'll do it when i get home

crimson rose
#

I've found it

#

@cyan warren

#

It's not empty.

cyan warren
#

Try copying the contents of it to another folder, call it "SaveRecovery" or something like that. Then try loading the save with that name.

crimson rose
#

oh wait

#

that not was the archive

#

that's why i didn't found it

#

like now, not yertsday

#

(sorry my english is bad)

cyan warren
#

Yeah I am not exactly sure what you mean by that, does the folder exist then?

crimson rose
#

yeah, it exists but not the log

#

like the 28-11-2023_11-15-23 doesn't exist

#

or i dind't found it

cyan warren
#

You do not need the log, you just need to move the contents of the folder to a second folder you create

#

To check if it would be an issue with recognizing the folder

crimson rose
#

OHH now i understand. Ok, i'll do it

#

Ok i did it

#

like, i moved the folder to "SaveRecovery"

cyan warren
#

Try loading into it now

crimson rose
#

ok

#

It doens't let me

#

the same error

#

"the save file directory doesn't exist, now we are closing. Sorry!"

cyan warren
# crimson rose "the save file directory doesn't exist, now we are closing. Sorry!"

Can you try doing a full reinstall?
First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

crimson rose
#

gonna reinstall the game

crimson rose
#

did it but

#

now it doesn't want to open

#

like the game

#

@cyan warren

#

i verified the archives integrity but nothing

cyan warren
#

Even when using the Alternate Launch options?

crimson rose
#

Yes.

cyan warren
#

Can you share a screenshot of the console window when you use the alternate launch then?

crimson rose
#

Try going to your Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -cachedir=C:\Zomboid > Start the game
