You’re more than welcome! The infantry is the largest element, but there’s specialisations and a small civilian attachment too 🙂

There’s no boot camp, just join the discord and there’s instructions for how to get involved
Sunday 13th June 1993
Medical and logistics personnel receive emergency mobilisation orders from their respective commanding officers. Each soldier is expected to arrive at base by 1600 the next day. Very few aren’t able to arrive within that timeframe, and they are only given verbal warnings, which is slightly out of the ordinary.
Monday 14th June 1993
During the afternoon, briefings are given to establish aid stations across the county due to an expected influenza outbreak, after traces were picked up during tests in the Ohio River. CBRN specialists are distributed across the state from both the National Guard’s 75th Troop Command and the Army’s 20th CBRNE Command.
Training and preparations continue through the evening.
Tuesday 15th June 1993
As the National Guard began to set up aide stations in Town Halls, outside hospitals and even within some military bases. Luckily, Fort Knox is not one of these.
The first reports of illness throughout the state come in. First only a couple, but by midday it’s already well into the hundreds.
Wednesday 16th June 1993
Panic buying sets in as those same reports are aired on the radio. The television and newspapers make no mention of it. There is minor unrest, but no serious incidents. Stores are out of essentials by 10am and have to introduce purchasing limitations as they restock.
Friday 18th June 1993
Police agencies are pushed to their limit working overtime to maintain order in Urban centres as queues build up for stores and tensions increase.
Sunday 20th June 1993

Tuesday 22nd June 1993
Martial law is declared as National Guard units are posted in towns and on highways, with checkpoints being set up. Seemingly in response, a growing protest in West Point leads to part of the town hall being burned down.

Amidst a world adjusting to the end of the Cold War and grappling with rapid cultural change, a shadow began to fall over Kentucky 🇺🇸
It was June 1993, a time where grunge music and flannel shirts were the rage, but in this case, something far more alarming took center stage.
--
The early signs of the crisis were innocuous. Medical and logistics personnel across Kentucky received mobilization orders on Sunday, June 13th, 1993. There was a strong sense of urgency, yet the reasons were shrouded in mystery. By the next day, the state braced itself as aid stations sprang up in response to an expected influenza outbreak, tracing back to the Ohio River. This was no ordinary influenza season; something more ominous was brewing.
By June 15th, the National Guard had established aid stations in town halls, hospitals, and military bases, though Fort Knox remained untouched by these preparations. The reports of illness began as a trickle but soon swelled into a flood, with hundreds falling ill by midday.
The situation escalated rapidly. By June 16th, radio broadcasts filled the air with news of the outbreak, causing panic buying and minor unrest. This sense of chaos only deepened over the following days, with police stretched thin and civil unrest erupting in urban centers.
June 20th marked a significant turn. West Point PD officers were forced to retreat from Gigamart as unrest boiled over. The situation was deteriorating fast. Just a day later, as the infected numbers soared, the Kentucky National Guard was fully mobilized, and martial law declared on June 22nd.

The tension in Kentucky reaches a fever pitch on June 27th in the town of Rosewood, where a 20-minute gunfight erupts between civilians and the military, an event that briefly became known as Kentucky’s Bloody Sunday. This bloody incident led to the Governor's resignation and signaled a complete breakdown of order.

By early July, the situation had become dire to say the least. The district containing the hospital had fallen, overrun by thousands of gory, pale-skinned figures. The USCGC Bear patrolled the Ohio River, firing upon any vessels attempting to cross, as the military desperately attempted to contain the situation.
Louisville was isolated from the rest of Knox County by a massive fence, and Fort Knox transformed into a stronghold under siege. Captain Kane, a central figure in this chaos, faced mutiny, ultimately being arrested for refusing orders he deemed immoral.
As July progressed, the base descended into pure anarchy. Desperate officers approached Captain Kane, who was now imprisoned - seeking his leadership in a daring plan. In a bold move on July 27th, Kane's confidants struck, using incendiary devices and smoke bombs to try and subdue 149th groups.
On July 28th, all who were left were ordered to form up at the motor pool. Greeting them was a strange sight - those who had surrendered, alongside Major Lake, were on their knees with their hands bound. Captain Kane's declares a hardline stance against those he deems traitors. His orders crystal clear: the traitors were to be cast out...
"Today, we drew a line that separates us from the weakness and depravity of these traitors. Those that would destroy what remains for the sake of power and greed. They are dead to us. Take these ‘men’ to the east gate. Clear it of infected and send them away. For should I ever lay my eyes upon any single one of them. I will kill them ... Dismissed”
