Have you disabled upnp?
No
Try disabling that
Server is just rebooting now
Sounds good
Same no repond
Does your router have DHCP enabled?
Yes
Reserve the IP for your host machine
It is already
This is running on my home rackmount server in a virtual machine
ISP Router has a DMZ setup to my primary router which has the portforwards to the server VM
In a docker?
Are there port conflicts in the server networking?
Sometimes you can inadvertently create a conflict
Or... potentially the game instance is running in a server network that does not speak to the host machines internet connection
I thought this for a moment because there is a VPN that another game server on the same VM is using but I'm SSH'd into the server on the LAN and can connect with PZ on the LAN
Alright, so... something with your router to the host most likely
I just changed the ports to the defaults
in case there was VPN weirdness because said other game would normally use the ports I had set
Does it work now then?
unfortuantly not
😦
I also got the smart networking people over in homelab troubleshooting because I suspect its taht
but doesn't hurt to ask in two places
Homelab?
Its another server. Mainly people who do lots of selfhosting
LinuxGSM won't be the issue
its something networking related
also I would check it out if you do game servers with any regularity.
thank you for trying. I may be back if I solve this issue and run into anothre.
I do run game servers but I use a different OS
Works quite well
LinuxGSM isn't the OS
its just a program to pull down the files and install in one command
I'm on Ubuntu 22.04
Alright, well I still run in my setup pretty well
Hopefully you can get it working
I vaugly remember having this same issues years ago with PZ
but back then I wouldn've been running dedicated on windows
Many ISPs are set up so that you cannot connect to your public IP address from inside the network. If that is the case there is nothing that you can do.
To test an external connection you will have to try from outside or have someone else do it.
already tested this and that was not the issue
I've been testing using my phone as my internet connection
At any rate I have no idea what is different between this new VM I setup but its working.
The networking should be identical on it
