Can you elaborate on that? How are you hositng / joining the server? Can you join other servers?

yea i can join other servers its just the simple host button on the game and then invites me after giving me permision to join

So you are joining your friend? Can you try joining through the Steam Friends list instead? Rightclick username > Join Game
