#Memory running away/Memory leak

Can you share your logs.zip file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?
Sure will do, thanks Beard
It shows here that you edited your RAM settings, which shows in your RAM usage
And a ton of mod errors
I would recommend keeping the RAM settings to their defaults, you should have no problems with that
Thank for looking and trying to help. I used these instructions - I didn't realise it was you that had posted this (guessing you're the same person?). The reason I edited them was because RAM usage kept increasing
Yes, same person, but at the same time with different knowledge than from 2019
Back then we did not use the Z Garbage Collector in the game, therefore RAM changes could help in certain situations
Since the switch to the new garbage collector and the default RAM being increased to the optimized 3GB, it is really not necessary, and may even cause issues
OK - don't worry - I'm not questioning that, just didn't know
and makes sense. So I need to reset that file.
Did your RAM hit 8GB before the change?
It is normal for RAM to go a bit above the max
It was up at 7-8 regularly
5-6gb would be expected with your amount of mods
coupled with poor game performance. IT's an MP server though with mods - yeah
so I know it may be mod issues
Are you hosting the server?
No - just a player
Can you check if you have Paging memory enabled by the way?
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10,36929.html
It should be System Managed
You can just delete the file and verify your files through Steam
It will redownload just that file
Ok, thanks.
Or just change it to the default value of -Xmx3072m
