"Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Americans,"

"I stand before you today to address a matter of great urgency and concern that has gripped our nation. "Good evening. This is an important message from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regarding the ongoing geological anomalies and the recent reports of a strange and terribly violent sickness associated with these sinkholes."

In recent days, a new and alarming development has come to our attention: the appearance of a mysterious illness, presenting severe and unusual symptoms among individuals who have come into contact with these sinkholes."

On Hollowed Ground is a horror themed Zomboid RP text-based experience with an emphasis of an ever evolving story and immersive interactions. The world has fallen victim to "The Hollowing Event". A situation in which massive sink holes have emerged across the globe, exposing millions to terribly infectious bacteria long forgotten millennia ago. These holes are massive, deep.. and contain a great deal of mystery to them. Some describe it as a supernatural phenomenon, others try to rationalize it but all that is known presently is that those afflicted change for the worse in horrific manners. Even those of whom were long considered dead ages ago, have been reimbued with flesh that is no longer their own as the gas converts itself to a disgusting ooze when in contact with decomposing organic matter.

With society quickly becoming swept away in the blink of an eye, many found themselves waking up the next day to empty streets.. cars left abandoned and worse of all. Silence. The less fortunate who were among the first to fall to the sickness found themselves driven to burrow themselves as deep as they could manage before their bodies became vassals to something abhorrent and deeply disturbing. Their features unrecognizable, their bodies distorted and skin bursting at the seams as a foul smell overtakes the senses of any poor soul that stumbles upon them. They lose all identity, all sense of humanity at this point and are beyond the point of no return. From there, they wander aimlessly until they find someone or something suitable to joining their wretched hordes. Indiscriminate, merciless.. only vaguely human on the surface and even then the longer they persist the more abdominal they become.

One shudders to think what lies at the bottom of the pitch dark abyss of these tunnels, one stays awake at night knowing entire cities across the whole have been swallowed up in one fell swoop overnight. One mourns for the families and more that become a hivemind to the unknown. But not all is lost, those of whom found themselves resistant enough to call themselves survivors are among the few who are capable of putting things back together before it's too late. Even if it's small victories at a time, mere battles.. it's all just one step towards winning the war.

Should you fail, the world you once knew shall perish. The Hollowing will spread beyond human hosts, to plants and vegetation and maybe even the entire world. Should you succeed however, there's hope still that the fate of Knox County will be kept safely within your hands. How you go about this is entirely up to you, perhaps the Hollowing is a gift.. maybe this was God's will or something even more. Perhaps.. there's something to this that everyone should enjoy. At least that's what your mind is starting to try to convince you about as you've stayed in a contaminated area too long reading this. How about you step outside and welcome yourself to the happy group of "friends" willing to give you a makeover?

All it takes is just one choice to change it all..

Gameplay is pretty good, there are some interesting groups forming, rules are good, newly added special zombies and the occasional sprinter to keep you on your toes. Can be a bit of a rough start like any zomboid server, although the staff team is very active and will even have spontaneous events catered to your character
