can someone help? when he does right click the cursor for attacking does not appear for, but the mouse cursor is still there

You need to have the Iso Cursor Visibility enabled for it to be visible

His trying it in single player right now

He can try going to the C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid and delete everything there except the Saves folder

#

This would wipe all the custom game settings

#

So in case something was disabled, it would enable it

If you have issues with mods, try disabling them one by one or in batches to figure out which specific mod is causing the problems.
Do it on a new save to to prevent any issues on your current playthrough as removing mods can cause items to be permanently deleted.
After you find out which mod is problematic, consider reporting the problem to the mod creator on their workshop page.
