Here's a lore-related question:
Is the PZ map located in the real world counties in the area (so Meade, Hardin and Jefferson), or is it all merged into a fictional "Knox County"?

It was originally a fictional "Knox County" but we've moved on to calling it the vaguer "Knox Country" which is basically the whole game map, but imo not an "official" title, just a nickname

The main reason for my question is that I'm making a mod that adds county-specific emergency vehicle liveries (so far did all police cars and ambulances), but I've been wondering whether they're lore-friendly or not

Then there come the fictional towns from the game

And those further complicate this entire matter because I have no idea whether they're in some fictional counties or if they're part of any of the aforementioned counties

If only the US had a federalized emergency services system 😔 (or at the very least, a state-wide one)

IF (and only if) the devs will make county-specific police/fire vehicles/ambulances I will know this for sure, otherwise it's going to remain a question without an answer

But seeing what little they've shown from that area, I don't think we're getting county-specific liveries, let alone accurate* ones (like f.e. the state police was semi-fictionalized in terms of the door decal, while the Louisville SWAT van was entirely fictionalized - the livery was made up, the police department too, only the logo was kinda accurate for the modern-day LV Metro police (which didn't exist in 1993)).
This is not criticism by the way, I absolutely love all the content showcased thus far, I just wanted to point out that it's unlikely devs will make that in-depth liveries.

* Period-accuracy is impossible considering there are absolutely zero photos from the 90s for most of the towns
