The looting and 10 year map are both a solid choice, the RNG in Zomboid has been pretty good to me the last few years but man.. I like a walking dead style play through with Insane Pop and with fast shamblers

Because I just started playing on that server this morning and I'm having a blast so far! My first character died within the first 5 minutes, but my second character is doing okay. I had like 100 zombies chasing me but I lost them by cutting through the woods. And when I logged out I was at the end of a dock in the middle of nowhere next to some sort of gazebo

The server is in US and the major of the playerbase is using text for RP stuff. So you are good to go I think, but beware of the hardcore settings. It is really difficult to stay alive.
