nvm i got the file working
its just saying getting server info
heres the log file
How is this dedicated server set up?
Any mods?
Is it a dedicated server?
yeah
How are you hosting it?
Steam CMD? Virtual Machine? Web host?
ik im not using steamcmd i think im just using the steam pz dedicated server
yeah tats what im using the pz dedicated server tool
Have you edited the server.ini file at all?
If you see a line in there that says "luachecksum=true"
Change that to false
See if it works then
it says to do esc>hosts> edit config is that in game?
i still dont see %UserProfile%\Zomboid\sever\
in my files
what is the host button
i think thats what i need
@solemn kestrel i dowloaded the .lua files
but still dont have serve.ini
but i turned the setting to false
Its a file that you need to edit before running the server
downloading it and editing it elsewhere doesnt help
idk if the file i edited was it
but it says servertest
do you want me to send you the log
If you have edited it in the file path for the server to =false
Try to run it again and see
That was my best estimate :/

Hello everyone, I've been trying to host a server for the first time, got around 40 mods up, booted everything up and I got stuck on the "Getting Server Info" step during the loading time for 40+ minutes. I've just been wondering if anyone got the same issue and if it's fixable. My setup is quite...
How did you install the server exactly?
If you did not use SteamCMD, I recommend using it:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2683719613
I tried using steam cmd and it dosent work everytime
It shows sever dosent work something like that and whitelist on
now it says servernot responding
Are you sure you are using the correct IP to join it?
And can you share the error message that you seemingly get with SteamCMD?
im not getting an error message from steamCMD im getting it from pz saying sever not responding and im using my public ip to join it worked last time
its still not working
Use your Local IP if you are joining your local PC
@short nymph now what
I am not sure what you mean by that.
Are you saying the local IP does not work either
Are you sure you are using the SteamCMD version?
im using steam cmd my ip4 worked its just saying getting server info
Could you share the logs again in that case?
where are the logs i dont see them in what folder would they be
logs.zip file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid
thanks
Thanks, this is fairly unusual. Generally this error either shows up if you are trying to connect to a Steam server without Steam or if you are trying to a server with the wrong version
Neither of which seems to be the case here
Are you able to join any random public servers?
the join server button is gray so it wont let me join
nvm it letting me press join server i need to put my username and password
so it lets me play in public servers
Right, so it would be a problem specifically with the hosted server, which file are you using to launch it?
StartServer64
And you are definitely using the SteamCMD install right? That you installed manually
Since the other cause is usually from the Steam version
It works on some PCs but not on others
What do you mean by that?
That is certainly not enough info, what kind of error messages do you get?
idk i delted all the files already
thanks for trying to help
im going to reinstall the server
