Java Stack Overflow Error

#

I have no idea what is going on, I got three other copies of the game for some friends. We all installed it and i'm the only one encountering this issue

#

<@&756556556488933526> Not sure if I'm supposed to ping or wah, sorry ahead of time

civic ferry
#

I would need the file as mentioned there

prisma grove
#

Yeah, that's my post. What file are you needing in particular?

civic ferry
#

That will do, this error can either be caused by a mod or by a graphics card issue

#

First I would suggest going to the Zomboid folder again and delete the "Mods" folder there

#

Then try launching the game again

prisma grove
#

Alrighty, i'll try that. Thank you

#

Game still crashed

#

I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 with the latest driver

civic ferry
#

In that case, I would recommend resetting your Nvidia settings as well

#

Right-click on your desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.
Click Manage 3D Settings.
In the upper-right corner, click Restore Defaults.

prisma grove
#

Still the same issue, unfortunately

civic ferry
#

Hm, in that case we might need more game logs

civic ferry
prisma grove
#

I don't seem to have that file

#

The game hasn't fully launched or allowed me to play, it's had this issue upon first install

#

I've uninstalled and reinstalled

civic ferry
#

These are good guides for it, if you find the crash there, can you share a screenshot of the Details section?

prisma grove
#

I'll give it a shot

No idea if this is useful or not

civic ferry
#

Do you perhaps have any extra audio devices connected?

#

Any microphone? Headset? Any audio applications?

prisma grove
#

I've got my headset, which has a mic. As for audio applications, I don't believe so. Other than the Realtek HD Audio manager that come with my ASUS something or other

#

I'll try ending it and running the game again

civic ferry
#

Just so we are not chasing a lost cause, try unplugging the headset and see if the game launches then

prisma grove
#

Alrighty

#

That didn't work either

civic ferry
#

Alright in that case try verifying the game files just in case there is nothing wrong there

#

Steam Library > Right-click Project Zomboid > Properties > Local Files > Verify Local Files

#

While that is going on, can you check if you have your monitor plugged into your graphics card and not your motherboard?

#

Here is a simple visual as to where it should be plugged in

prisma grove
#

Yes, both of my displays are plugged into the graphics card. And as I've already verified the local files and uninstalled and reinstalled, I'll attempt deleting the entire folder and redownloading it.

civic ferry
#

Both displays..

#

As a test, can you try unplugging the second one and then go to the "Zomboid" folder again and delete everything in there

#

This should reset all your settings

#

If your two monitors have different resolutions, the game may have picked the wrong monitor resolution in the configuration

#

So it would just never start

prisma grove
#

I shall do so after redownloading the game.

#

Same thing continues to happy

#

Okay, so I went into the user files and deleted the folder called Zomboid and verified my game again and noooooow it's just working

civic ferry
#

Without unplugging the monitor or anything..?

#

Unusual, maybe it was indeed some kind of configuration issue then

prisma grove
#

Oh no, I did that and the samething happend.

#

I played the old PZ wwaaaaaay back in the day on this same install of this OS

#

So maybe there was something hanging around?

#

No clue

civic ferry
#

Aaah, yes that might make sense, yes those files do not get deleted even after the game is uninstalled

#

The Zomboid folder that is

prisma grove
#

Correct

#

I deleted that folder and now it works fine

civic ferry
#

Well glad you got it fixed then
