No matter what I seem to do, the game always loads the UI in the my displays native resolution (4k). Changing Windows High DPI settings have no affect, Alternate Launch, Using Windowed Mode, Borderless, Fullscreen in any other resolutions still load tiny UI text.

Changing all the text and UI font sizes make them almost readable, but then the text extends beyond the size of the box so you can't read but a few words usually.

I've gone through several posts regarding this issue since 2018 with Beard and Enigma's help, to no avail. Happy to provide pictures or anything that might help figure this out for me, thanks for reading.

First picture is my view in just windowed mode at a lower resolution, if I were to "maximize" the window PZ is in, the UI and text remain the same size.

#

second picture is with the font sizes all the way up, becomes readable for sure, but in the third picture, you can see how it becomes a problem as I can't read the full names of the mods. The problem extends to items in game, and basically any text block containing more than just a couple words

If I launch the game in "fullscreen" with a very low resolution, I expected the game to use the set resolution for the UI, but it seems to load the UI based off the displays native resolution, not the set resolution under the games display option

The Fix for this is always disabling the DPI scaling

#

Did you try disabling it for the ProjectZomboid application as well?

#

Background Project Zomboid isn't built with high resolutions in mind. First, the cost to sort art into the correct draw order increases exponentially the more tiles are drawn to the screen. Worse, this has to be done on the CPU, largely leaving the GPU to handle only 3D models and drawing those tiles once the CPU is done sorting them. Second, fo...

If doing the application disabling doesnt work, did you try turning off the global DPI scaling as well? It should be mentioned in that post too

both of these checked on both version, is that correct?

#

changing my windows global dpi scaling seems to have made the difference. My settings were using the recommended scaling, and changing it to anything else allowed me to run it fullscreen with proper UI scaling. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

There are two system settings, I am not sure which one works best though
