imagine to have a sandbox scrollbar slide a very long one to define difficulties preset,
(very easy tier 1,2,3, / easy tier 1,2,3 / normal T1,2,3 / hard T1,2,3 / very hard T1,2,3 / hardcore T1,2,3)

to enable people choose populated and curated balance choices, as another option of tweaks numbers by himself (and adds more acessibility when choosing game balance on sandbox)

and having radio buttons to toggle what you want the difficulty to be apply

or have sections to define difficult with slides to each one
of gameplay aspect (loot, zombies, environment, vehicles, survivalist...)


maybe we can group some people to make this mod πŸ‘†
and have gameplay balance in google spreadsheet or something,
and maybe recommend some mods too

Addon for the susceptible mod that adds TLOU style corpse nests in random buildings. This would be a separate sandbox option similar to "everyone is infected" only this would make the game play like normal until you enter a "nest" with tons of dead infected inside. If you linger too long without a mask you will contract the zombie virus.

Maybe a possible side option to change corpse sickness entirely to zombify you without a mask.

Pretend your character is in wheelchair.

Crouch all the time, cant use stairs, cant leap over fences, cant climb through windows, cant use cars. Basically don't do anything wheelchair bound person wouldn't be able to do.

A mod that lets you put crafting recipe tabs in a custom sub tabs. If you have all the cool vehicle mods installed, they all end up with their own tab in the crafting menu which really clutters the crafting menu and you end up with 30 or 40 tabs-- should be able to stick all of them just under a Car Mods tab or something. Crafting Helper is also affected by this, as if you right click on something like a Metal Sheet with high metalworking... all the car mods just clutter the right click menu too.

Our crafting menu on our server has about 40ish tabs because we run over 200 mods. πŸ˜… The idea would be able to set all those tabs to sub categories, server-wide.

Playing the Challenge runs have been beating my ass -- but then in a shocking stroke of good fortune I spawned with a Braven Bicycle nearby, and it totally changed the equation.
However, I don't think I can always count on sheer luck to escape the hordes -- Is there any chance someone could create a mod where you'll spawn with a complete Scrap Bicycle on you? Perhaps as a -6 Perk or something like that.

I would love to make a thread of ideas from myself, i tend to be a very creative and resourceful person so things like this facinate me, but for now he's a few i'd like to throw out there. Idea itself is in bold
i started a new game and spawned on a roof with nothing but some food nearby, a knife, and a baking tray... I thought to myself, shield.... a crafting recipe that takes a baking tray and probably some fabric to create a makeshift shield I adore the idea of makeshift weapons in an apocalypse, as i said before creativity and resourcefulness are a fascination to me, so things like this are awesome. **an upgraded version could see that you use a bit of scrap metal or any kind of long metal item such as a pipe, to make a better handle and reinforce the tray. ** I don't konw which mod i have installed or if it was vanilla that allows you to upgrade tools and the like but the upgrading is super linear, just add material of similar type and boom, new level. Upgrading should be based on the form of upgrade, if your going to use a metal sheet to make the tray thicker (or you could use the metal sheet as a basis, they seem interchangeable in this situation) than you would upgrade it that way, but if you want to make it last longer use the metal pipe to make the handle more durable hopefully someone will understand as i well as i think about it

Magic / LitRPG. add traits related to casting, new skills for types of magic, a mana or chi stat, add slots for magic spells, maybe equipment that lets you equip more spells. XP Books for the skills, schematics for the spells.

Hello hello! Does anyone want to join in expanding on my skateboard/bicycle/scooter mods? I'm basically looking for someone that would want to help code skills that lets people get progressively better at handling the items. So for example the skill for riding a bike would have you start out going slowly, and as you get better you learn how to go faster, turn tighter, brake faster, do tricks like wheelies, use weapons etc.
If anyone wants to team up and get it done, just let me know!

If anyone wants an idea for a mapping project that wouldn't be very big; it would be super cool if there was a skate shop and bicycle shop to go with the skateboard and bicycle mods. Some place to be guaranteed to find them and scavenge for upgrades.

I'm working on my first local mod for Build 42, and I'm trying to implement a manual save/load system, like classic single-player games. I managed to make the mod appear in-game and even added a button in the ESC menu using Lua, but I’m having trouble triggering and debugging the Lua code (no print() or UIManager:queueMessage() is showing anything so far).

I've been brainstorming a mod that takes advantage of the new grappling features in Build 42. But I am new to moddingdon't know quite where to begin. Ideally this would add a full Japanese jujitsu combat system where you can throw and disable zombies using martial arts techniques!

Core Features:

  • Position-based throw system (different techniques depending on where you are relative to the zombie)
  • Kuzushi mechanics (directionally breaking zombie balance before throws)
  • Mouse + keyboard combo inputs for intuitive grappling
  • Zombies can be thrown into walls, objects, or other zombies for extra damage

Character Progression:

  • New Jujitsu practitioner traits (from beginner to advanced ranks)
  • Skill progression system with increasingly powerful techniques and success rate for techniques
  • Advanced throws can target zombie heads for critical damage

World Integration:

  • Dojos and martial arts schools with training equipment
  • Martial arts books, magazines, and rare training videotapes
  • Special journal from a sensei with zombie-fighting techniques
  • Training dummies, equipment and mats to practice safely

Defensive Mechanics:

  • Proper clothing reduces bite/scratch risk during grappling
  • Pin zombies and finish them with weapons
  • Realistic injury system for both combat and training

This would add a whole new melee combat style that rewards positioning, timing, and skill development. Think it's doable with the new grappling system in Build 42?

I've thought about adding those as well, but I want to try and keep my mods lore accurate. So the only one that would kind of make sense would be an electric bike, because the first commercially available one came out in 1993 and it looks like the screenshot.
The thing is that it was only available in Japan at that time from what I can tell, but I could see it being fun to make it like super duper rare, like if one rich guy in Kentucky heard about it and imported one

It's blocked in the transfer action, the trolley uses the vanilla transfer since it's a container
To make it transferrable you'd probably just have to hook into the transfer validity check and allow the stone to pass.
Honestly I could check if it's that easy and do a mod for it quick

I love the trolly. I think the "realistic logistics" side can receive some modding love.
Like, there is no reason why a fit adult shouldn't be able to hand-pull (albeit slowly) one of the small smallest open car trailers. Instead of breaking your back and losing health πŸ˜…

So I've been testing this out a bit and there's actually no hard-blocker for the large stone, it's just that if your player inventory weight is gonna go over 50 when transferring the stone, then it won't let you.
If you have 9.99 or less weight then it will let you pick up the stone.
So the only real thing I could do with a mod would be to remove the limitation that blocks it when you're gonna go over 50 weight.
Would you want something like that? It would be easy to do

modern ebikes first started getting mass produced in the late 80s, and there was a manufacturer start up in Alabama in 92 that was selling them in that larger region. Motor development didn't have anything light enough with the torque for a skateboard until late 90s, but there were absolutely ebikes running on 12 volt lanter cells or the same batteries in the pow pow power wheels cars in 93, and no reason there wouldn't have been some in Kentucky

Infinite map zoom would be nice, I like writing really small on the map but the map zoom restrictions make it much harder for me to write in that size and make it visible. I also just like to zoom in all the way on certain buildings so I can get a good idea of the layout
