Hello again, got another problem and this time a friend of mine is unable to join the server even though he put in the correct info. I'm not sure what is causing this I got in the server fine while his says the server is not responding. (Sorry about the 1st picture not being clear, it's the only pic he took before he left and went to sleep) does this have to do with the IP I used or is it on his end?

@cunning frost Can you show me how to do that or maybe give me a link on how to do it? Not really good with configuring things and I rely on guides and tips.

#

Thanks in advance.

Is your friend on your local network perhaps? Since the IP you showed seems to be a local IP

Ah no he isn’t on my local network, I used my local IP because my public IP doesn’t work for some reason and I don’t know why.

What should I do?

Did you make sure to follow the guides on opening your 16261 and 16262 ports through your firewall and router?

languid beacon
#

Yeah I followed some guides and went to my firewall and router to do the thing but I probably screwed something up. I'm resorting to start over and create a new one.

#

did this too ^

#

I'm really having a hard time explaining these stuff haha really sorry.

Yes

languid beacon
#

Ah alright so what do I do?

drifting basin
#

A screenshot of the port forwarding you did in your router

#

So I can check if its correct

languid beacon
#

Ok so I'm stuck, like do I have to log in to my router to check the port forwarding or do I have to do something else to check it?

drifting basin
#

Well I assumed you have already done that, since you said you already port forwarded

#

So yes you would need to log into your router

languid beacon
#

Ohh now I know why I'm having a hard time logging in to the router, I need an ethernet cable to connect to my laptop

#

I'm going to buy one tomorrow

drifting basin
#

Generally an ethernet connection is not needed for the router login

#

You can just check the Gateway IP in your Wifi

#

And connect to that

languid beacon
#

Oh that’s actually better than buying an Ethernet cable

#

I gotta stop for now since I’m going to be very busy with classes, I’ll work on this again when I get my free time. Thanks again for the assist I’ll be asking for your help soon when I get back.
