food is easier to find, less houses have alarms, the zombies are stupid
I dont play with kids (im in my 30s) but a good tip is to camp out in the firehouse in rosewood. Also, make sure you put on the "starter kit" itll give you water, chips, a backpack a bat and a hammer. Make sure you tune in to LiveandLiving TV at 7am 12pm and 1800pm for skill boosting. Eat food from fridge and freezer first and save canned food. Only use guns once you have a lot of ammo saved up and start with a shotgun in order to level up your gun abilities.
Blunt weapons will kill zeds and is less likely to damage clothing. Axes and knives will damage clothing
House alarms will attract all zombies within a 250 tile radius

If you have cleared out an area they can be useful. It depends on your play style. I dont personally use them but if you intend to then its best to use a shotgun as you will only level up if you hit something with your shots and shotguns have spread.
plus. by the time you have a bunch of ammo you should have a good idea as to how to play.
