Since the new hotfix was released I couldn't update the game to match that 41.77.5 version. I tried verifying the files 4 times, clean reinstalling the game by deleting all the files and nothing worked.
Also, I'm not the only one having this issue. I successfully updated the server to this version, but me and many players are having trouble updating client-side to 41.77.5, which prevents us from joining the server again. However there is only one player that successfully updated his client-side PZ..
Is there anything else we can try besides verifying, reinstalling and/or just waiting?

Try to delete a file/folder from the install & then (re)verify the installation. It should restore the deleted == updated. Know the 'verify' doesn't work 100% of the time otherwise (seems to think 'looks like everything is there so GOOD)
Any file or some specifically named one?
I've no idea which file got the actual update this time ..
@olive anvil
I tried deleting random files from PZ folder, all the files, verifying some more times, one more reinstall clean without any files.. nothing worked
When I try to join there is one error display before it displays the non-matching client-server versions. Here are the console logs.
I'd appreciate any help
Odd. I didn't have any of these problems. Server went w/o a hitch & the change in Steam to BETA d/l'd a small (200kb) 'update'.
Maybe do a client switch from stable -> BETA a few times until it pops proper??
Will try that
Tnx btw for trying to help me

Nadda-- tried that a few times with different BETAS too. Not working for me nor for any of the other players on the server
Still the weirdest thing is I uninstall it clean and reinstall-- still not getting the last version.
Tried also validating the server too a couple of times.. not even that helps. Server remains on .5 while all clients are stuck in .4
Def weird. Maybe one of those 'it hasn't propagated around the net JUST yet'...waiting game
Sorry that didn't work out (yet)
No worries-- we'll just wait for the miracle to happen
Same stuff with new patch.. most of the players on the server are stuck with 41.77.4 whereas the server is 41.77.6
Nothing changed ๐ต
Yeah we figured as much while testing stuff around-- unstable works fine
But how is it that server is on stable branch and updated to the 41.77.6 and the players got to be on the unstable?
That still confuses the ____ out of me
Also 2 players can still join using the stable, as for the rest we gotta switch to the unstable
Well when I edit the pzserver.cfg it says branch=""
Doesn't that mean it is stable?
I know branch="unstable" is unstable
branch"legacy41_76" was legacy 41.76
My provider told me "" is stable.. so might be the misinformation.
But either way-- we had two players join using the stable which is definitely weird ๐
Unless everyone is straight up lying to me
LinuxGSM? Yes, empty ('') == stable/default code base
Presuming they're using LinuxGSM, it's how I switch back/forth (just comment out & let ""/default/STABLE load)
Something to be said about running your OWN dedi server vs. 'provider' ๐
Well my situation is a bit more complicated that that. What now is a provider was once a member of the staff team. So we did switch from actual providers to our own server. But since they quit.. they are the 'provider' and I use terminal and ssh to acces the server. It is linux btw.
So you advise me to switch to unstable now? and revert back or just stay there to basically fix and update the server's confusion about versions
The branch doesnt matter unless you update the server
If you updated it while it was on unstable, you would be on unstable
Plus afaik there are multiple pzserver.cfg files
Are you editing the right one?
Should only be one (depending how deep into the GSM cfg. tree you go)
the cascade over-writes (if any setting exists)
If nothing in common/instance, default will always pull the STABLE base
Afaik there is the default and the standard
So there are two
The default one gets copied to the standard one
I forgot how it is exactly
'instance' being 'pzserver.cfg' in this case (of course) ๐
"There can be only one" - Highlander ๐
using this one.. this one is the only one I know how to access
pzserver.cfg
I'll switch to unstable then and use it instead
Hope it fixes the issue for the server
Least w/ the .6 update, you should be able to see what version the server is running from the in-game server browser (finally) Hated having to run to the LOG to see what's what
While I'm still here-- what could've cause CheatMenuRB mod to break from this patch. I tested it on stable and it works just fine but on unstable it just doesn't work.
Btw I tried reverting the server back to branch="" (stable) and again it remained in unstable for some reason... is it possible TIS made some error somewhere with this hotfix which breaks the ability of servers to remain on stable ?
Tried.. reinstalling the server?
Delete the server files, then install it again
As you can see the last update was 6 ago
Meaning if you are on the stable patch, it would literally be impossible to load the unstable patch
I haven't tried that-- server is too active for me to do a full uninstall and stuff.
It is okay either way we can stick to the unstable for now.
