Hi, whenever I change any audio settings whether it be in game or in the main menu it will cause Project Zomboid to crash. It might not, however, crash when changing the audio settings the first or second times but eventually it would crash. There is also no music playing despite the volume settings being turned up.
Weirdly enough, the crashing doesn’t happen in desktop mode but there is still no audio aside from UI sounds.

Since the game works Natively on Linux

I checked and I’m not running Proton I thought that was what Steam defaults to. I’m using Steam Linux Runtime.

Can you try disabling the VoIP setting in the game options in that case?
Since it seems to cause audio issues on the Steam Deck
