Is because mannequins are ACTUAL NPC’s. Literally an NPC with zero stats, with a line of code saying “don’t move and just stand still” and a wooden skin.

They are all Nords. With a generic AI for sandboxing.

Game-wise, you load into a cell. In the first 200 or so miliseconds, all NPC data is dumped, like location and pathfinding.

The game sometimes loads in the mannequin data AFTER the pathfinding data. So it pumps out “that Nord with wooden skin (the mannequin) wants to sandbox over to the table and sit down. Poof! You get the mannequins to move now and then.

Modders fixed this bug with less than 50 words of code in 2011.

Bethesda did not fix it themselves until AE edition of the game got a patch in 2023

The game has a thing called culling. Basically a zombie will de spawn when it’s far away and super old. The game deletes the zombie in order to save memory.

Seagull player you never noticed. It’s literally a non-existing issue in single player games.

But in multiplayer? It’s broken and it will literally delete hundreds and hundreds of zombies out of existence.

me and my friend have about 10k hours on arma 2 epoch/PvAI servers and I can tell you, its insane. AI can pistol headshot you from 1k away. We used to spend months on a server to try to clear its AI city/stronghold and move on. The amount of stupid shizz we experienced is hilarious. One server I got headshot while in a tank by a solo roaming AI.
Arma is peak idiocy, having fun with Gray zone with the same friend, AI there are more "realistic", at least in the sense if they have a pistol they dont down you from a kilo.
