You don’t wear out hardware by overclocking, provided voltages are not dangerous or you have a bad motherboard microcode (ie what happened to 13th and 14th generation CPUs, mostly i9 13900k/ks/14900k/ks)

Worst that can happen is the overclock is unstable, either you dial it back or sometimes if it’s a bit too far you Bsod and your bios settings are reset. It’s actually much harder than you think to kill parts. Then you dial it back a bit.

Reforger for instance, the M16 has a much higher muzzle velocity than the AK74, yet it does both less Damage, and has less armor penetration to make up for the Range Disparity. HOWEVER unless you run an optic on your M16, you are using ghost rings, while the AK has open top leaf sights.

This wouldn't be an issue IRL as Ghost Rings actually have a lot of uses compared to Leaf sights (They are better at night, at extended range, and help manage proper sight alignment compared to leaf sights) HOWEVER, in Reforger, it doesn't matter because the AK74 has Higher Ergo, Higher Pershot Damage, and is defaulted to automatic. And since its a GAME, the weapon is always immediately shouldered correctly, and instantly to the same point on your screen. Which results in this really fucked up gunplay where they try to balance the US off of "Oh yes they can outrange the Soviets" but it never matters because the game revolves around towns and objs that are sitting in the forest which means they can just walk into you and nullify your range advantage.
