cyberpunk was the same. at lauch it had only 8k textures bundled. so it was borderline unplayable for most. but for the people like me who had enough vram at the time it was butter smooth and bug free.
the real meme was they shipped 8k textures to consoles. and they struggle with 1080p texutres so it was a complete mess 
a quick reduction to 720p and what do you know. it ran well
