The travel up to 100 tiles and for 2 IRL minutes to the last known tile they detected you at. The moment you break line of sight? You can lose them.

Example:

rosewood school. Get a horde of 50+ zeds to follow you around to the NE corner. Go around the corner then crouch and move.

This minimimzes the sound you make.

By the time you reach the shed and go around the next corner, the entire horde of 50 can no longer see you OR hear you.

Your last known location is the NE corner.

The entire horde will stop at that corner looking for you, fail to detect you, and start randomly sandboxing
