one of my favorite interpretations of a martial master in fantasy settings was this old dude who at one point had a kinetic magic attack that enchanced his natural kicks and punches, but it was nearly invisible and did no damage to the environment because he had such good control that there was no energy wasted into anything but the target

so like he just does the moderately fast punch and the air cracks in half as the bad guy shaped cloud of mist gets blown away in the wind, and everything else is unharmed
