The whole game has a clear, crisp tension, and a new sheen of polish that really gives the survival aspects a big boost. It's been compared to Cataclysm: DDA, but I think they have a far more balanced, nuanced approach to decay and consequence.
In 2025, they released this, Patch 42.7.0 ,this amazing update that refined solo survival. I think the game’s undisputed masterpiece is... singleplayer.
A mode so rich, so introspective, most people probably don’t appreciate the full depth of what it offers. But they should, because it’s not just about looting and killing — it’s about fun.

Well, I'm not a "hater" per se. The Oblivion Remaster is legit and what a remaster SHOULD be. Only complaint is some of the altered art direction they took.

Tweaking volumentric lighting and/or shadows and godrays fixes 90% of the issue.
For reference, Shadows on Ultra vs. shadows on Medium is the SAME visually. Same with Godray's. Set those to either Ultra or Low. Ultra if you want super epic atmosphere and a Huge hit of 10-20 fps loss, or low if you want zero fps loss.
Minor tweaks to shadows and godrays without any other mods will help a LOT. Same with using BethINI

Can't stand bullet sponges in most games. So many games just use "Enemies tank more damage and deal more damage" as their higher difficulties and it just feels so lazy. More games need to make the higher difficulties mean both you and the enemy are easier to kill.

Also partly due to textures. Get the optimzation mod installed. Bethesda FKD the textures with their compression methods. Some 1K textures are taking up the same size as a 4K texture. They are also rendering textures outside your visual range in 4K for no reason whatsoever.
I prefer Vivid Fallout still. Saves you a TON of memory.
