I hit Nashua and usually I just use the disinfectant, wash up, heal up and stay well fed while making sure to read so I don't get stressed. However I ran out of disinfectant and never found more in a house and the pharmacy has been overrun with zombies because I tripped an alarm when going there and did not loot it. Normally I have all I'll need for life with that store.

I went inside to wash up and heal up and eat but I didn't know till a bit in the infection and asking for help that sterilized rags help disinfect wounds. So I had infected wounds this whole time and that made it worse. I'm now over 60% infected and usually I peak at ~50% so I'm wondering do I need to sandbox some stuff if I save my character at all or do I still have a chance to not die?

No. It's just easier to view it that way. Zomboid is COMPLICATED.

You heal based on calorie intake, health, your attributes, traits, etc. There is not just one mechanic, but like 10.

So in GENERAL terms, if your character is nauseaus, you need to get better or you get sick and a fever. At that point you are now approaching death.

So it's better to fix nausea then let it get worse, right?

That is my advise. Avoid getting sick and being sick is not a concern

Idk when it comes up normally I'm not good at combat so antibodies and zombies still are how I go. I've never survived long enough to like break a leg or badly crash a car and get a concision or any of the other ways to hurt yourself besides from zombies. (Other then once I broke a window to get into the gas station, didn't realize my shoes got worn, I forgot to remove glass and hopped in, got both my hands and my feet bloody.)

So I went into sandbox settings for the multiplayer world, it said, backups, I clicked on that tab and the two boxes are backup on start and backup on version change.

That means every time I load into the world I host it backups the game save, it says I have 5 backups but any before this last one were a long while ago that's for sure.

I'm just wondering how I go and force it to load the last backup it made and go back an hour of gameplay or if that's even possible. I still could die and its less cheesing it then using the debug menu.

Besides that, the only way to know how to use the backups is to go find them and figure out what’s different between them and a normal save folder.

But I don’t know how to do that since they don’t exist for singleplayer, and I haven’t had a reason to host a server yet

I’d assume they’re somewhere in the server files, but im not sure where those would be either; maybe just your regular save location if you’re just clicking “host” in game? If it’s a dedicated server though it’s likely somewhere else
