I don't have a base yet I've been trying for maybe an in game week at least if not more. I looted the gated community, found my duffle bag, my fanny pack I think my satchel also that might have been a house elsewhere. I don't know if large hikers bag allows you to carry a fanny pack with the satchel but if not this is the most I could carry that I knew about at least so I took it.

I always keep food as one bite not that bad just house hop for a few days, 2-3 bites and I need to hunker down be as little active as I can, heal up and always be washing whenever I can and eating. I NEED to stay washed, clean, disinfected and full to the point of extra healing 30-45% at least if not 60. With more then one bite if I don't manage the wound like crazy I will die. That's why I carry the food on me, that's why I carry the medical stuff also, being infected makes you so so stressed I'd get 100% if I didn't manage it and everything is a negative for this even slightly so...

I'm already not sure if I will heal enough yet this is 2-3 bites 1-2 lacerations and a scratch at least from these zombies. I'd rather be paranoid held up in a house somewhere with stuff then having extra loot space. That's why I prep with the food clothing and weapon spares.

Drop off a backpack of items or toss them in a cabinet.

If your looting a city for several days, pick a spot you can fall back to for resupply.

Even if it’s just a car trunk.

That way you can go back and forth and not be bogged down with 5 bazillion rags

I mean 12 rags isn't that bad and its not that hard to wash them or find something on a zombie that isn't bloody if I had a few rags and some of them disappeared from over use.

Once I get the supplies from the pharmacy its quite easy to have enough pain killers, disinfectant and all that, just alcohol wipes if its an important wound like the head or torso and especially I'm making a get away and its the leg. Its less effective but I don't want to bleed to much, otherwise I unpack the disinfectant bottle as it weighs more and my personal no need to unpack storage is only so much.

I think its fine to fill a fanny pack and satchel full of stuff I need on me (better safe then sorry ALWAYS learned that the hard way I was stuck in a looted house with no food and a helicopter event so I left as I didn't want to die I was bit and antibodies mod and to many zombies found me I died), duffle bag of an extra weapon or two and random loot, that's not to many car trips and when car and duffle fill up including the seats, I head back to base and unpack its never been that bad it just has as of late because the hardware store is so near the pharmacy and an alarm at the pharmacy and police station (I want to loot the pharmacy and base at the fishing store) been hard to loot supplies and have a place to put things and keep a car so many zombies.

Ultimately PZ is a game where MOST approaches are valid. There are not many playstyles that can be classified as “meta”.

I survived my first 1 year via stealth and only killed around 300 zeds total.
