So in regards to legal hunting in Canada it is regulated to avoid overhunting and extermination of species in an area

It might be the same with fishing licenses (albeit less regulated) but I’m not sure.

Hunting for sport is bad. But so long as you don’t overhunt and actually eat the animal you hunt then it’s fine.
