If you don't understand it on a principles matter. Well you don't subscribe to the current economic and ideological modle many of these consumers operate on. I agree. And if you know generally "why" viewers watch it but don't agree, nothing more is to be said. If you genuinely dont understand why viewers watch it. I am not the best person to tell, but the best explocatuon I can produce is essentially addition, escapism, and entertainment. People are wanting the dopamine rush more and more immideate so longer forms of entertainment are becoming less and less popular for shorter and quipper media. For now, at least.
Not understanding it practically, like why has it become popular. In short it's to get views and advertisers which means more money. Money isn't the only reason, fame is also a motivating factor. But in our current economic system it is logical to turn out short and catchy videos. And in this attention economy, the videos that will gain the most views, and return viewers, will be the most profitable.
