maybe it's because of the culture of most of my adult/professional friends (those who I met as an adult) but 'touch' has never been that taboo where I've lived or worked. Handshakes and hugs all around at meetings and gatherings. Family friends are very affectionate and we share watching/disciplining the kids, etc. I'veseriously considered setting up a multi-family homestead with a couple of them.
