I love serving, and its great money.

Tipping is a contentious thing though - I believe servers should be paid living wages instead of having to rely on a customer so much - and I believe customers should eb able to pay for their food and the expereince without having to pay for service. But until we as people either push for legislation to change that, like they did in Chicago, or Americans actually get paid living wages for their jobs, it probably wont change. @shut glade Loot your spawn house, and if you find food, stay there a bit and look out your windows, listen for zombies - move to each house and location while spinning around and watching for hordes and indidivudal zomboids. Collect a backpack or a bag - if you cant wear it on your back you can "equip as secondary" and hold it in your other hand, and place items in it. Find a pen, mark if your location is good on your map, relevant inof, etc. so if you die, you know where you last were and whats around that area.

Collect some items you need for survival and crafting.
You want two handed tools and melee weapons.
Hospitals/Pharmacies for antibiotics, painkillers, etc.
Can openers and food, of course.
Wear as much covering clothing as you can - if it increases youir bite/scratch defense, wear it.

If your goal is to survive for longer than a day, clear out your building, and then each building surrounding it - do that safely, and you can clear out surrounding zombies in the streets pretty easily. That will make your area really quiet for awhile, until a horde moves in, a meta event happens, or some stragglers pass through, etc. You can learn crafting, learn to barricade and make defenses, and actually have a "base" at that point, and start making runs for supplies and such.
