uhhh from my personal experience, and experience i can share with you with better detail cuz you're in riverside:
get a welding mask and a torch, both of those you'll have to check garages or warehouses nearby for
then go to the gated community that's at the end of town and check propane grills, you can right-click them and take the tanks out
after that:

• level 1, go to the car junkyard on the other side of town from the gated community and dismantle those
• level 2, try to get a basic blacksmith setup on the other side to not waste a bunch of propane and weld together and take apart steel/iron bars over and over, which you can manage from cars
