To be honest, I don’t have a definitive answer to your bug, but I do have some suspicions about what might be causing it.

#

First what’s your gpu,
Are the drivers updated (if it’s an Nvidia should be 610 smt

#

Second, it might be caused by identity refreshing the ability registry. However, I really doubt it’s the sole cause, as I would have received reports by now.

dire badger
#

couldnt update the drivers to the latest ones cuz then they messed up my editing and rendering software

#

so i had to stay below the latest ones

#

but okay, thanks

#

how likely do u think it is that it's the older drivers causing it?

void anvil
#

70%

dire badger
#

and why would it be just the identity mod and just when im morphed as a mob?

void anvil
#

How old is it

Ish

#

Yea that’s definitely the problem

#

Because your client profiler got huge spikes in glsl methods

dire badger
#

ok thanks

void anvil
#

If you had told me it was maybe from March, I wouldn’t have been so sure. But since it’s from October, yeah, that’s definitely the problem.

i can send the spark reports if that would help

I may have found something, but honestly on my end it's barely noticeable. I had to use external profiling tools to even spot it.

What I found is that every ~5 to 6 seconds there's a small frame time spike from around 2 ms up to roughly 33 ms. The timing is similar to what you're describing, and it seems to line up with GC activity, but I still don't know why morphing would cause enough allocations for that to happen.

The thing is, the spike I'm seeing is nowhere near as severe as what you're experiencing. In normal gameplay I probably wouldn't have noticed it without profiling tools.

So this might be related to your issue, or it might be a completely different problem that just happens to have a similar interval. I'm still investigating.
