You could replace the broly with UR TEQ Mai and that'd be a full on db team if thats what you're looking for
You have the optimal team for him besides the broly on there i believe

Bunny Bulma is good since she's a rainbow orb changer
The issue with ste LR bulma is she's a long events unit while Tao is more short event oriented

I've been trying to get phy tao for ages and seen him in the new android banner and got lucky to get him, I had str lr tien for ages and figured once i got tao i'd make a team using him since he seemed extremely fun to run

Then there's a Tao team which is a team actually built around helping and enabling Tao with good linking partners and rainbow orb changers/stunners

Why would he use tao with un optimal units
Because the most optimal tao team is just a bunch of the best Earth Bred Fighters. His most optimal team is something like Him, Daima4ku, Daima Piccolo, EZA Gohan, SSJ4 Goku, and Bojack SSJ2 Gohan
But a team built around tao is very different and optimally worse

No it isn't? Using tao just for a bunch of broken earth bred fighters in itself isn't optimal. So an "optimal" team for tao would be forming the team around him

Except Tao is debatably the best Earth Bred Fighters lead due to his insane amount of Defensive utility while also letting you run one of the best general supports on his team with Phy Glorio. And also being one of the hardest hitting units for short events even with stun immunities

@chrome spade this team works pretty well
For tips, you wanna have Tien and a Tao as one of your rotations. Every time they come around you wanna swap them between who's slot 1 and who's slot 2
when tien gets hit in slot 1 for the first time each turn he gets some stats for 3 turns, in slot 2 he gets boosted a bit for 4 turns, while also gaining a bunch more stats just for that turn and 70% evasion
So you wanna pair him with someone who can slot 1 easily (Tao can with his 80% DR and defensive buffs + his 70% unarmed counter chance) but does not need to be in slot 1
Also Tao needs as many rainbow orbs as possible as it's what makes him do really good damage even without the enemy being stunned
And if they are stunnable? Decent chance of over 100mil attack stat when attacking
