I have REALLY bad social anxiety even at places like this and my friends gonna be running around talking to people and I’m just gonna be awkward like HOW DO I MAKE FRIENDS IM NICE I SWEAR 😭

I was so awkward last event I just sat in the corner, my tip is to chat here, it’s always easier to talk online than in person so make friends here !! Then you can hang out with them at pitp

Definitely what Vin said, become acquainted with people prior to the event so you have people to hang about with.
Myself and other helpers (when available) will be more than happy to talk or help you become more comfortable with the event as a whole ^^

genuinely, i’m more than happy if you follow me around and either just chat with me or effectively body double

i had a kid come up to me last event and do that and it was amazing, i loved it so much and was able to indroduce them to other people

at the last event i used the trade channels a lot and made some friends from trading with them so i’m doing that again this event heh

u don’t even need organises trades it’s just easier to go up to people with somewhat of a purpose ik some ppl are bringing stickers and stuff to just hand out /trade on the day rather than organising

Im also having the same issue. Like I’m really social with people I know but when I go into a new event where I don’t know people I just panic and sit in the corner the whole time so I’m starting to get some anxiety for this event

They stopped talking to me much and like would respond here or there and apologise for inactivity and then one day I just got the bot messages when I tried to ask if he was okay (and ik it weren't an accident cuz he blocked me on Tumblr too)

Personally, ive ALWAYS had trouble making friends, the first event i went to i was with someone I knew but I completely shut down cuz there was a lot of new people XD BUT I defo think joining this server before any events to understand the people who have significant roles, and maybe even make some companions through here to meet at the event =)

the event can get pretty damn busy with lots of people, so the quiet corner is just if u need a break or a quieter area if u get overstimulated :3
