#Accentuate Low Ping Server Visibility

Good morning/afternoon/evening fellas. I have a small QoL proposal.

I propose that the ping on the server browser be color coded, green for low ping, yellow for moderately high, red for extremely high, etc.

If you are a frequent TDM player, it's no secret that there's usually only one server filled with people. You'll also notice that an overwhelming amount of people on these servers have very high ping.

Now, I completely understand that beggars can't be choosers. If the only active server is EU based, then of course players from other regions will have high ping, and vice versa. That's just how internet connection works, I totally get that.

I doubt it would impact much, since it's just a menu alteration, and at the end of the day players will join full servers regardless (myself included). Hopefully it would push some of my fellow 100+ ping players to populate a server we might have lower ping on.

tl;dr - have the ping on the server browser be green/red to indicate good/poor connection to a server.

As someone who wants to rip my fingernails off playing EU ping from the West Coast of the states yes please

#

It makes me so annoyed when I join an EU server too and everyone has like 120+ ping too 😭

the number is right there. i don't see how colour coding it will make people ignore it any less than they do already.

what if they're colour blind

the number is right there

no

I’m red green color blind but usually the shades are so drastically different that’s it’s very easy to tell at a glance

i don't really see how this would help the problem though. if people are joining a high ping server, that either means they don't care or are incapable of understanding how ping works

people just join whatever is populated but i feel like if they were at least put in the right direction with colour coding it would help, because like i said sometimes theres servers full of people who are 120+ ping

I wonder if having a small icon of this appear ingame when experiencing high ping could encourage people to swap onto different servers, however

maybe it will do nothing except piss ppl off tho or because there just isnt enough people at once to fill out multiple severs

Could have the connection on servers look like that instead of the actual number until you connect and look at your ping on the scoreboard

#

80 and under is 3 bars, 81-135 is 2, and anything over 136 is 1 bar

just dont change the number to icons only, keep the ping number too PrimalTears in minecraft its icon only, and it doesnt show how much of real ping you have...

this is for the browser not the scoreboard

The browser could do with a little makeover anyway, make it larger or something so the small amount of servers doesn't look so... Small....

A small QOL thing idk how in depth you’d need to work to implement but I think it’d be cool where if you look at a server there’d be a persons silhouette to let you know a friend on your Steam friend list is on the server

#

would translate well for ps4/5

I still want ‘round x’ to show on the browser

That’d be nice

oh, nvm then, but even in browser, keep the number too PrimalPlease

yea, where maps usually go, get rid of the PC-CTE-GTTC part, just have it as something such as Docks and whether its round 1 or 2

#

its weird the maps have their unique command names in the server browser

Lol yea
