#Rewording of the Tip System on the Class Spawn UI.

The current tip system in the game is, to put it blunt.. not good. Almost every tip there is more of a tutorial on how to play the class, and not actual tip information on how to improve gameplay with nearly any of the characters, with only 1 tip on the actual tip menu being useful for improving your gameplay.

I'll give an example here:

For T. rex, the first two tips, are literally what's being described on the left side of the screen. it is not necessary to be written there twice, as it's already written there once. The wording for the Roar with RoarButton tip, in all honesty is better worded than the one on the Roar Ability description, so I'd honestly just put the wording from the tip there.

Same with the tip for the tailswipe, it's already worded on the left, and doesn't need to be a tip down there either, because neither are tips, they're just class tutorials.

I'll do a small breakdown and give some suggestions on what the tips should actually be:

Rex PCRexSkull

First Tip: "Roar With RoarButton to give dinosaurs an attack boost."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Second Tip: "Use SecondaryButton to send humans flying."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Third Tip: "You can change the direction of your tail swipe by looking left or right"

  • Not a bad tip, but this honestly could just be integrated into the left side of the screen's secondary attack description as "Directional tail swipe that sends humans flying."

Fourth Tip: "Tyrants are heavy enough to trample humans to death by walking over them."

  • Good tip.

Rex Tip Suggestions:

  • Tyrants can brace by holding ButtonHere for 5 seconds. Once bracing, you mitigate extreme damage at the cost of Stamina.

  • Tyrannosaurus has the fastest devour of the Tyrants, but also has the biggest head.

  • When Devouring a human, all Tyrants take less damage.

  • Be sure to roar before an attack starts, as your buff for your allies lasts for only X seconds.

  • Stay with your team! The best Tyrants know to group up and stay by other teammates in the case of dangerous situations. Don't run in alone!

Gonna write the rest down here because I'll easily take up the Discord Message Limit

Spinosaurus PCSpinoSkull

First Tip: "Roar With RoarButton to increase the damage resistence of neary dinosaurs."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Second Tip: "Use SecondaryButton to swipe enemies away with your claws."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Third Tip: "You can change the direction of your claw swipe by looking left or right"

  • Not a bad tip, but this honestly could just be integrated into the left side of the screen's secondary attack description as "Directional claw attack that sends humans flying."

Fourth Tip: "Tyrants are heavy enough to trample humans to death by walking over them."

  • Good tip.

Spino Tip Suggestions:

  • Tyrants can brace by holding ButtonHere for 5 seconds. Once bracing, you mitigate extreme damage at the cost of Stamina.

  • Spinosaurus has the most health and largest armor point of the tyrants, use this to your advantage!

  • Of all the Tyrants, the Spinosaurus takes the longest to devour a human. Be careful when devouring someone!

  • Spinosaurus has no way to defend it's direct rear if attacked from behind. Stay with your team for them to help you defend your rear!

  • Be sure to roar before an attack starts, as your buff for your allies lasts for only X seconds.

  • When Devouring a human, all Tyrants take less damage.

  • Stay with your team! The best Tyrants know to group up and stay by other teammates in the case of dangerous situations. Don't run in alone!

Acrocanthosaurus PCAcroSkull

First Tip: "Roar With RoarButton to regenerate health of nearby dinosaurs."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Second Tip: "Use SecondaryButton to stomp and send humans flying."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Third Tip: "You can roar to free yourself from a net or cleanse yourself of tranquilizer effects."

  • Good tip.

Fourth Tip: "Acrocanthosaurus is the fastest Tyrant, and can trample humans underfoot much more easily."

  • Good tip.

Acro Tip Suggestions:

  • Tyrants can brace by holding ButtonHere for 5 seconds. Once bracing, you mitigate extreme damage at the cost of Stamina.

  • When stomping, Acrocanthosaurus takes less damage.

  • When Devouring a human, all Tyrants take less damage.

  • Acro has the least health of the Tyrants, but is also the fastest.

  • Be Careful where you stomp! Stomping locks you in place and can make you a potential sitting duck, a badly placed stomp may be more trouble than it's worth!

  • Be sure to roar before an attack starts, as your buff for your allies lasts for only X seconds.

  • Acro's stomp does more damage the closer a human is to you, and less damage the farther away the human is from you.

  • Stay with your team! The best Tyrants know to group up and stay by other teammates in the case of dangerous situations. Don't run in alone!

Novaraptor PCNovaSkull

First Tip: "Press RMB to quick Pounce Forwards, you can hold RMB to AIM your pounce."

  • Good Tip

Second Tip: "Roar with Q to Frenzy and attack much faster!"

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Third Tip: "All dinosaurs can continuously attack by holding PrimaryFire."

  • Alright Tip.

Novaraptor Tip Suggestions:

  • Novaraptors preform the best in packs, stay nearby your other fellow raptors for best results in an attack!

  • Every attack during a frenzy drains your Stamina slightly, be cautious of how you use it!

  • Humans pounced are defenseless and must rely on a teammate to save them if pounced.

  • Be cautious of your stamina before you pounce! Pouncing costs great amounts of Stamina, and if you pounce someone with your Stamina low, you will tire and set them free, giving them a chance to shoot you!

  • Raptors can kill humans very fast, try to always ambush your opponent to get the first hit in to kill unsuspecting humans faster.

  • Explosives, Traps, Sniper Headshots and Nets are your biggest weakness as a Raptor as they all have the potential to one-shot you. Use your Raptor agility to dodge these attacks!

  • Ambushing unsuspecting humans from foliage is a great way to initiate attacks on alone humans.

#

Oviraptor PCNovaSkull

All Tips on Oviraptor are great.

Additional Oviraptor Tip Suggestions:

  • Oviraptor takes the least fall damage of all Dinosaurs.

  • Oviraptor has less Health than the Novarpator, but is much more agile and can jump much higher.

  • Humans pounced are defenseless and must rely on a teammate to save them if pounced.

  • Oviraptor kills humans faster with pounce than the Novaraptor.

  • When Scenting humans, humans highlighted the color Red are under 50 HP!

#

Pteranodon PCPteraSkull

All Tips on Pteranodon are great.

Additional Pteranodon Tip Suggestions:

  • If you're ever on fire while in flight, diving for 1 second extinguishes yourself!

  • Humans grabbed are defenseless and must rely on a teammate to save them if grabbed.

  • Be stealthy after grabbing someone! It only takes one shot from another human for you to drop a human you've grabbed.

  • It costs stamina to attempt to grab, be attentive of your Stamina Bar before you attack!

  • Pteranodon can dive through the air to pick up speed, rather than constantly sprinting, try diving around to boost your mobility!

  • The most lethal Pteranodons use the foliage to their advantage to stay hidden before swooping down to attack.

  • Many maps have hazardous zones like oceans, acid vats, or lava pits. Dropping humans in to these instead of taking time to ascend to great heights will kill faster, and lessen risk of being shot!

#

Tupandactylus PCTupaSkull

All Tips on Tupa are great.

Additional Tupa Tip Suggestions:

  • Try to ram humans off of high places to kill them with fall damage!

  • If you're ever on fire while in flight, diving for 1 second extinguishes yourself!

  • Be attentive of your Stamina before you attack! Make sure you have enough stamina to sprint away after charging into a group of humans.

  • The ram of a Tupa deals great knockback and can potentially confuse humans momentarily for your allies to attack while they're confused.

  • Flyers can dive through the air to pick up speed, rather than constantly sprinting, try diving around to boost your mobility!

  • The most lethal Flyers use the foliage to their advantage to stay hidden before swooping down to attack.

Dilophosaurus PCDiloSkull

First Tip: "Press RMB to fire a venmous spit that blinds humans."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Second Tip: "Spitting costs stamina, Roar with RoarButton to instantly replenish your stamina bar."

-Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described what the roar does on the left side of the screen. I'd reword this to: "Spitting costs stamina, be aware of your stamina bar before attacking."

Third Tip: "Your venom spray can be used to extinguish fire, extinguish your allies!"

  • Good tip, but I'd reword this to "Dilophosaurus spray can etc. etc." So people don't mistake Cryo spit to do the same thing.

Fourth Tip: "Humans that stand in dilohposaurus venom pools have their stamina drained!"

  • Great Tip.

Dilophosaurus Tip Suggestions:

  • Spitters have less health than raptors, but have ranged attacks.

  • Hold down the Spit Button to charge up a huge spit that has a larger AoE, blinds more humans closely grouped together, and deals more damage!

  • Dilophosaurus spit can extinguish pathfinder flares! Spit at a flare to extinguish it!

  • Spitters want to always try and keep the high ground for the best performance of their ranged attacks.

  • Biting and then retreating to let your venom do the work then returning to bite again is a great tactic to lessen your chances of being shot.

#

Cryolophophosaurus PCCryoSkull

First Tip: "Press RMB to spit burning acid at your enemies!"

Third Tip: "Your Acidic Spit can instantly free netted teammates!"

  • Great tip.

Fourth Tip: "Spit acid on traps such as landmines to melt them!"

  • Great Tip.

Crylophosaurus Tip Suggestions:

  • Cryolophosaurus does not possess a venmous bite, but wields a much more damaging acid spit.

  • Cryolophosaurus blinds for a much shorter time than Dilophosaurus.

  • Spitters have less health than raptors, but have ranged attacks.

  • Hold down the Spit Button to charge up a huge spit that has a larger AoE, blinds more humans closely grouped together, and deals more damage!

  • Spitters want to always try and keep the high ground for the best performance of their ranged attacks.

#

Carnotaurus PCCarnoSkull

First Tip: "Sprint to lower your head and charge enemies!"

  • Good tip.

Second Tip: "You can adjust the direction of your head swipe by looking left or right."

Not a bad tip, but this honestly could just be integrated into the left side of the screen's secondary attack description as "Directional head swipe that does medium damage."

  • Side note that nowhere on the kit description state Carno has a head swipe outside of this tip. The secondary attack should be written there describing the head swipe, not the Charge, the current secondary option there is written as "Cahrge into puny humans to send them flying." This will confuse players thinking that RMB will do this at first glance until they go in game to discover sprinting is what charges, not the secondary attack button.

Third Tip: "Roar with RoarButton to gain health from damaging enemies!"

  • Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Fourth Tip: "Big bruisers automatically enter charge mode after reach maximum speed."

  • Typo here on reach. But additionally this doesn't need ot be here. Sprinting will enable your charge so quickly that this really doesn't need to be explained to the player. Additionally the stating of "Big Bruisers" might confuse players, as all Bruisers charge.

Carnotaurus Tip Suggestions:

  • It is best to run to a corpse and heal after doing a charge, than instantly coming back again and risking death after already wounded.

  • Roaring will refill half of you Stamina bar, use this when low on Stamina to stay on the move!

  • Try to never charge from the front into humans, as they will most likely shoot you and have you nearly dead before you get to them.

  • Try to charge from behind to increase success on ramming unsuspecting humans.

  • You'll almost always want to have your roar active before you charge in to groups to increase your survivability during big group charges.

  • Try not to stand still and brawl as a Carnotaurus, you want to almost always be on the move.

#

Ceratosaurus PCCeratoSkull

First Tip: "Roar with RoarButton to Steal Stamina from enemies by biting them!"

  • Doesn't need to be here, as it's already described on the left side of the screen.

Second Tip: "Ceratosaurus has armored head and shoulders, use this to your advantage!."

  • Great tip.

Third Tip: "You can change the direction of your claw swipe by looking left or right"

-Not a bad tip, but this honestly could just be integrated into the left side of the screen's secondary attack description as "A directional tailwhip to attack flanking humans."

Fourth Tip: "Hitting a human with the tail of your tail will deal critical damage."

  • Great Tip.

Ceratosaurus Tip Suggestions:

  • Cerato preforms best when with it's team, especially Tyrants. Stay close to your team for the ost successfull attacks.

  • Cerato is a better brawler than it is a charger, it has the least damaging charge of the 3 bruisers.

  • Cerato has no weak points on it's body. Try and stay facing your opponent during fights at all times for this reason to maximize your armor potential.

#

Pachycephalosaurus PCPachySkull

First Tip: "Reach max speed to charge enemies, dealing heavy knockback."

  • This tip should be reworded. I'd write it as "Pachy deals the best knockback of the bruisers when charging."

Second Tip: "Your dome is impervious to all damage except armor piercing weapons."

  • Great tip.

Third Tip: Crouch with CrouchButton to slide while sprinting, allowing faster turns.

  • Great tip.

Fourth Tip: Roar with RoarButton to gain much faster speed and higher jumps with Pachy.

  • This tip is outdated and should be removed, it also doesn't need to exist because the ability breakdown on the left tells you what the roar does.

Fifth Tip: You can eat grass to replenish health, but corpses heal faster."

  • Great tip, this should honestly be the first one you see since it's a Pachy exclusive feature.

Pachycephalosaurus Tip Suggestions:

  • It is best to run to a corpse and heal after doing a charge, than instantly coming back again and risking death after already wounded.

  • Roaring will refill half of you Stamina bar, use this when low on Stamina to stay on the move!

  • Try to never charge from the front into humans, as they will most likely shoot you and have you nearly dead before you get to them.

  • Try to charge from behind to increase success on ramming unsuspecting humans.

#

Pathfinder PCPathfinderSkull

First Tip: "Use RMB with the double barrel shotgun equipped to fire both barrels at once!"

  • Good tip. But I'd reword this to "The Single fire of the double barrel is much more accurate, with the trade of firing both barrels at once for less accuracy and for more damage."

Second Tip: "Press ThrowButton to throw an item, flares blind dinosaurs!"

  • Doesn't need to be here, it is not a tip and is already described on the left side of the screen under what a Flare does.

Third Tip: Thrown hatchets can be picked back up if they don't hit an enemy.

  • Great tip.

Pathfinder Tip Suggestions:

  • Shotguns have the shortest range of all primary weapons, but deal the most damage.

  • Shotguns are great against small dinosaurs, with devastating damage enough to even potentially kill raptors in one shot.

  • Make sure to be reloading your Shotgun as often as possible, to prevent from ever running out ammo when you'll need it most.

  • When first bringing out your machete, it will automatically slash. Ideal for close quarter combat when you're out of shells!

#

Scientist PCSciSkull

First Tip: Press ThrowButton to deploy throwable items. Gas Mines instantly drain a dinosaur's stamina!

  • Doesn't need to be here, it is not a tip and is already described on the left side of the screen what a Gas Mine does.

Second Tip: Sensor Mines reveal nearby dinosaurs to both you and your team. A maximum of 3 can be deployed at once.

  • The maximum can of 3 can be deployed at once is a great tip, but the first bit is uneeded. As it's already described on the left side of the screen under what a Sensor Mine does. I'd reword this to be "Use sensor mines to line up your shots for incoming dinosaurs around corners. A maximum of 3 can be deployed at once."

Third Tip: Use your dart gun to disorient dinosaurs and drain their stamina."

  • Doesn't need to be here, it is not a tip and is already described on the left side of the screen what a Dart Gun does.

Fourth Tip: The Tranquilizer Rifle uses poison tips, put enough into a target and they will overdose."

  • Outdated as it is still referred to as a Tranquilizer Rifle here. Additionally doesn't need to be here, it is not a tip and is already described on the left side of the screen what a PDR does.

Scientist Tip Suggestions:

  • Scoping in greatly decreases your situational awareness, be sure to stick by your team when scoping to prevent being ambushed!

  • Dinosaurs in an Overdose from the effects of the Poison Dart Rifle can no longer heal and are guaranteed kills.

  • Fortify tight corridors with gas mines to prevent dinosaurs having agile mobility during attacks!

#

Commando PCCommandoSkull

First Tip: Press RMB with the assault rifle to shoot a rocket propelled grenade!

  • Alright tip, but it doesn't need to be here really, it's already stated that the Assault Rifle has a grenade launcher, this just explains really you press RMB to fire it.

Second Tip: Press Throwbutton to deploy Throwables, Ammo Kits replenish teammate's Ammo, Med Kits heal them over time.

  • Doesn't need to exist, explained on the left side what these throwables do, and it's rather self explanatory on whht they do for it to even be a tip.

Third Tip: Tip: Lay down a bombing run by dropping multiple frag grenades behind you!

  • Great tip, but the "Tip:" At the start isn't needed, since you're already in the tip section.

Commando Tip Suggestions:

  • Commando is a large class specialist, excelling at taking down Bruisers and Tyrants.

  • Fire your rifles in short, controlled, bursts to prevent heavy recoil and spread to help shooting smaller dinosaurs.

  • Stabbing a dinosaur with the bayonet of your Burst rifle will cause them to bleed.

  • Firing an Assault Rifle grenade close to you will cause it to bounce, try to set up some ricochet trick shots off walls with the grenade!

#

Pyro: PCPyroSkull

First Tip: Press ThrowButton to throw an explosive! Warning, some may bounce back!

  • Not necessary, as only the Molotov bounces, and rarely does it ever.

*Second Tip: Use RMB with your flamesaw to chainsaw enemies up close!

  • Alright tip, but it doesn't need to be here really, it's already stated that the Flaemsaw has a saw, this just explains really you press RMB to use it.

Third Tip: Your flamethrower can convert acid pools into fire pools!

  • Great tip. But I'd further elaborate saying these fire pools are used to burn dinosaurs that run across them. Turning their own weapons against them.

Pyro Tip Suggestions:

  • Using your chainsaw will make you recieve less damage from biting and slashing atacks from dinosaurs.

  • Pyro has the most health of all humans, but also has the worst range.

  • Use fire to your advantage by throwing molotovs and standing in the flames to give you the upperhand in close combat with smaller dinosaurs.

  • Watch out for Dilophosaurs! They can extinguish fire from themselves, other burning dinosaurs, or extinguish your own flame pools!

  • Dinosaurs on fire take more damage! Use this utility to help turn the tides against larger dinosaurs in fights with your team!

#

Trapper PCTrapperSkull

First Tip: Use your netgun to net smaller dinosaurs and muzzle larger ones!

  • Doesn't need to be here, it is not a tip and is already described on the left side of the screen under what the Netgun does, this is just restating it.

Second Tip: Press Throwbutton to lay down a Trap! A maximum of 3 can be deployed at once.

  • Alright tip.

** Third Tip: Use the Melee Key on netted Raptors or Spitters to instantly kill them!**

  • Good tip but I'd include flyers for this too.

Trapper Tip Suggestions:

  • Trapper is a small class specialist, most effective against Spitters, Flyers, and Raptors, but less effective against the Bruisers and Tyrants. But that doesn't stop the nets from being great utility against the larger Dinosaurs!

  • Use nets on Ceratosaurs to stop them from sprinting!

  • Watch out for Cryolophosaurs! Their Acidic Spit can melt your traps.

  • If a dinosaur is too far away that you've netted, try shooting them with your colts or SMGs to kill them from a distance.

  • SMGs have a faster fire rate and clip size than colts, but also have much worse range and spread.

#

All done! I hope that people like these tip suggestions, it's bothered me for a really long time how you have to really pay attention to things in patch notes to know how things work, as there's so many things not stated anywhere in the class spawn screen. I'm aware of the upcoming tutorial section too, but a lot of these tips should be reworded too.

Such as Pyro taking less damage when using their chainsaw. It was overall really unfriendly to new players and didn't help them learn the game very much. I think these being reworded and additionally adding more tips will really help new players along with the upcoming new tutorial for the game.

Just wanted to say that i really appreciate the effort you put into this post (must have taken a while) and i think anything that helps new players out is always a welcome addition.
