Most weapons are pretty unique, for example AR has grenade launcher, burst rifle having bayonet and shooting bursts, sniper rifle simply having scope, or both trapper's primaries being independent-shooting dual wielded weapons. However I have a feeling that some weapons are just copy-paste reskins with changed stats.
And by those I mean db and spaz, which are painfully similiar to regular shotgun, and assault cannon which basically is sniper rifle but with different stats.
How about giving them some life by adding new unique features like these?
-Make db work similiar to dual-wielded weapons?
Each mouse button controls one barrel.
-Giving spaz ability to fold and unfold stock?
Switching mode would take maybe 3 seconds.
While folded, you reload faster.
While unfolded, you have decreased recoil.
-For assault cannon I have something that will probably never get added, but I'll post it anyways: bipod.
Giving scientist unique ability to prone and deploy herself with assault cannon with bipod would allow weapon to fire more rapidly and with decreased recoil
however, once you are deployed, you are left vulnerable. You can't move, and additionally your mouse sensitivity gets decreased by 50% as long as you are deployed.
Of course these ideas are just examples, but I think it would be nice to improve those kind of generic weapons.
