new heavy melee is cool but trapper is limited to using only the netgun if he wants to use the ability

The animation could be a pistol whip, but I think considering the weapon is small and to make the weapon more unique, the animation should be a jab with the end of the gun. it should also give the opponent the 1 second stun effect similar to the LMB shot it has.

I could see the animation for the stungun melee being a thrust forward kinda like the burst rifle, to make the tazer at the barrel make contact in the melee, result in some kind of zap.

I agree on a bit of uniqueness to the melee like you said.

I use half my stamina to melee a target and I don't even have the option to use the normal melee since that's the 'out of stamina' option
Small dinosaurs are basically defenseless and you can stop momentum and things like bruisers, it's nuts

Heavy melee meshes better with certain weapons than others. I don't honestly mind it on something like the burst rifle but there needs to be consideration on other weapons if it is even necessary

My ideal heavy melee:
stun immunity (to prevent stun locking)
Hitting the tail does not stagger
Hold-button and/or custom hit sound (so it’s better telegraphed to the victim)

Only usable by:
all pathy primaries
Flame slammer
assault cannon
Netgun
Burst rifle (maybe AR but probably not there needs to be more balancing with that)

This gives close- range classes like pathy and pyro more options and also gives ranged classes less melee options without leaving them in the dust

But if you want ALL weapons to do stun, I would say all trappers primary’s do light stun and his tazer, all pistols whips do light stun, scis sniper rife and tranq rifle light stun (bow would just do bleed and nothing else), idk with pyro as I don’t think flammesaw needs a stun (as it would probably be too op with the bleed) but flammeslammer can have a light stun ig

That would make the current heavy melee problems 10x worse, already now every human has access to a stun but adding every weapon to that list would make light classes borderline unplayable

It doesn’t matter for how long, any amount of stun is enough for the human team to shred your health by a decent margin

Spitters could manage as they jump around and spit at your face a lot making it harder to melee them

If mk, deagle, trapper’s colts and smgs, tranq pistol dont have it at all they’d be fine with most primaries only stunning for 0.5-1 second then it would feel a lot better of course close range classes should maintain longer stun times

The old melee did stun you for half a second or so meaning that the longer range classes still maintain a slight stun but its a lot more obvious on pathys
