#cut human mobility in half

I definitely wouldn't mind a slight speed nerf
because the human movement is fun and players enjoy learning it and dodging dinosaurs is fun
Okay?
no one wants to have zero chance of escaping bruisers and tyrants
a really simple fix to human mobility is just nerf their strafing/backpedaling speed. i don’t think harsh nerfs are needed, but enough so that humans can’t take 2 steps backwards and dodge anything
im for this as youd have to use stamina to keep running backwards at normal speeds by jumping
which would probably in turn help players learn human movement better
oooh yeah I definitely like that. nerfing the backwards speed would still let you run from stuff but nerf the super annoying dodging-while-shooting behaviour a lot of high level players employ
not to mention sprint shooting
i unironically wouldn't be against a speed nerf when jumping. i mean, irl, if you're taking huge leaps you're not gonna move faster than if you're in a full-on sprint. i know that kinda goes against the norm for FPS games but also it's annoying as hell in PCE lmao
Imagine if every single class in tf2 had their same hp stats, and weapons, but have the speed and mobility of scout.
yea, it keeps human mobility fun while making people put a bit more thought into it
backpedaling perhaps.
imo instead of nerfing human speed, it would be better to buff certain dinos' speed (perhaps raptors)
and yeah, maybe decreasing backpedaling and strafing, like people mentioned
Yeah it's definitely more about the dodging and running circles around you than the actual running speed
except with speed greed that is legitimately annoying and I wouldn't mind the duration of the effect being reduced
with speed greed you are literally as fast as spitters
that’s the last thing predators need rn
Predators are fast and mobile as is, they’re fine.
we can test that
I always thought the idea of a dodge roll or side-step would be interesting for the humans to have, or as an alt ability for a weapon (especially now after seeing the Helldivers 2 dive)
Personally I'm a little loathe to give humans a backpedalling or strafing penalty, human gameplay can be a bit uninteresting if you're always stuck sitting in one spot without any way to traverse the map or defend yourself properly by sprinting around; some of the most fun I've had in the game is by going Rambo on the opposite side of the map and seeing how long I last against a horde of dinos
Perhaps if the mobility of humans was shifted less to "I can sprint across the entire map in 2 seconds" and more towards "my mobility is a tool that keeps me alive and allows me to make strategic choices to fight or flight" that'd alleviate a lot of the issues, though that would need a lot of reworking
i was thinking that dodging mechanics would be a cool thing, but how to make it balanced
Yeah I don't want humans to be even harder to hit
a backpedal nerf wouldnt neuter human mobility or anything, just makes them a bit less agonizing to fight
like i agree its fun when ur the human but it makes classes like scientist a bit too good in close range
Imo scientist being good at close range is because of her very good hipfire once you learn it and I think nerfing backpedaling would hurt other classes like pathy a bit too much
pathy already performs more than fine rn so i doubt much would change with him, and like sham said above i would only want a slight penalty
i think cutting it in half is way to much
bruv playing human is already way harder then dino why make it even harder
if you cant hit a strafing human thata a you issue, might aswell need to nerf raptors because i cant hit a shot on them if thats the logic we going by
Why are people going back to a 4 month old thread that was effectively concluded lol
i just saw it now
The backpedal nerf is all that they got.
That's more than enough I think
Yeah, hence why I’ve never returned to this threat.
less boost in the adrenaline sup, more less stamina drained when running, more stamina drain when jumping and running.
no
maybe depending on the class it would be ok, like making pyro slower and scientist faster and stuff
Even faster snipers LET'S GOOOO

what
there was a suggestion about a month ago about speed greed being too annoying to deal with
they decided to nerf the duration iirc
