I recently reinstalled the emulator and at first it opened but it kept crashing. After messing around with the emulator a bit, the emulator closed and didn't open again, even though it showed up in the task manager. I tried reinstalling it several times, using already installed versions my friends sent me, using older versions, rebooting my pc multiple times, but nothing worked. I found someone with the same problem in this thread, and the only solution was to wait 10 minutes, and that works I guess, but now I have to wait 10 to 15 minutes just to boot up the emulator, and since it keeps crashing everytime I click start netplay I cant play or troubleshoot. Does anyone know how to fix this?
#Project64KSE opens after 10 minutes

Did you try setting compatibility mode to Windows7 in the executable options?
yes
Mmm. Is your graphic drivers uo to date?
Try opening Project64KillerOP.exe instead
yes and already done
mmm are you on Windows10 or 11
I'm on Windows 10
btw little update, for whatever reason the memory was set to 4mb, changing it to 8 took 10 minutes but the emulator now works once it opens, it just takes a lot of time and it's super annoying
if anyone knows how to fix ill be glad
Check your PC for malware or if you have unwanted apps that are messing with your system settings
doesnt look like it just ran a scan
Does this happen with other versions of Project64k, like the official Project64 itself
no, pj64 seems to be working fine
oh btw it desyncs everytime i manage to get in a game with someone
Are you playing on Ethernet cable?
yes
I used to have an ISP that used antennas to deliver their service. Despite being on Ethernet directly from the modem, I still was instantly DSed upon match begin
So depending on how ur ISP delivers internet to you it might make netplay playable or unplayable
oh wow
id probably be able to troubleshoot it if it didnt take 15 minutes to reboot the emulator everytime it crashes lol
i already played remix in the past and it worked so idk
Have you netplayed succesfully in the past without having many DS or connection issues
Def there is something going on with ur PC, most of us don't have to wait 10-15 minutes for the emulator to actually show up lol
yeah lol
my pc works fine in every other aspect tho and it worked for like the first half an hour
it's so weird
yeah btw i've netplayed succesfully in the past without any issues
have you tried running KSE with AV/FW disabled?
or disable all startup apps, you can do it with the taskmanager in the startup tab try disabling them all, reboot and launch KSE to see if it helps
stupid question, whats a fw
I was referring to Antivirus/Firewall
Windows-built in AV/FW sometimes is stubborn and you have to temporarily disable it or add exceptions so it can let you play smoothly
ohh ok
yeah i knew what av was but i didnt get firewall lol
my av is already disabled tho, ill try disabling every startup app later
not exactly disabled but it doesnt block apps
i tried it btw and nothing worked, i dont really know what to do now lol
hi
im having this same issue
it crashes after 10 mins though
but runs fine otherwise
any solution>? just re-downloaded today
Also it opens fine
Are your graphic drivers up to date
Have you tried changing plugins, mostly graphic plugins.
Have you set the executable (Project64KSE.exe) to compatibility mode with Windows7
Did the game worked well before a system update (ie graphic card update fucked everything up)
Do you have DirectX 9.0c installed
Do you have Visual C++ Redist 2010 installed (both x86 and x64)
Same question with 2012 version
Does your computer sucks? Obviously, because it can't run Smash64. Format that shit up or upgrade your hardware instead
my solution was just to open like 15 tabs of p64kse and wait the 10-15 minutes i have no idea on how to help you with the crashes
