#Questions about the elder scrolls online

Sorry, I was planning to do them here when someone showed interest.
dont ask to ask, just tell us what your concern is it's fine to do so
Okay, the main thing I wanted to know is if the base game alone, without the chapters and DLC, is worth it? Also, related to that, I wanted to know the difference between "chapters" and "DLC," since I understand that The Elder Scrolls 2025 bundle comes with the base game and all the chapters, but not the DLC.
the issue with ESO is it doesnt have a free trial so you really just have to dive in to know if it's for you or not, that said despite everything people say online about having "bad combat" i dont think it's that bad. now, as for being "worth it", the base edition/standard edition is on sale in steam until dec.3 for $5 right now
having played a little bit of ESO myself (not a current player), i would say at that price point ESO is very very very much worth it for the content and story that you get
Something else that worries me is that I've read in the game that there's an item called the "crafting bag" that you get with a subscription, and many people say that playing without it is quite tedious and they don't recommend playing without it. I'm not interested in paying for any subscription. Are these comments an exaggeration, or is it something that won't really affect my gameplay?
the optional subscription most people only get that for the extra crafting storage, that is true and much like how fallout 76 players subscribe to fallout 1st for the unlimited ammo and material storage. i'd say you can live without subscribing especially with the sale price and you just figuring out if you would like to invest time on the game or not
it's all a matter of discipline
and a bit of inventory management
not to pickup everything that falls on the floor
otherwise you will fill up your bags really fast
Are the story and missions (both main and side quests) good? Are they fun and interesting, or is the story something that takes a backseat?
The storytelling in ESO is top-notch
if you like elderscrolls and bethesda rpgs in general they should be to your liking. BUT if you have no experience playing them ES and FO games (say you prefer sci-fi), they're alright
If you're not into elder scrolls stuff, it might not be a good fit, tbh.
Yes, that's exactly why I wanted to know whether to take advantage of the offer or not. But I've seen comments saying they don't recommend it without the DLC and chapters, since there are several areas that can only be accessed through them. I understand that in the game you can explore various regions like Oblivion, Morrowind, etc., but I don't know which ones are DLC or chapters and which ones aren't.
when were these comments made?
cause
the base/standard edition
adds old dlcs
to the package regularly
Nah, you'll know from the base game whether you're gonna like it enough for the dlc
chapter = major update, DLCs on steam store just bundles them/packages them
Okay, I understand.
for example
the current "expansion" or "dlc" in other gaming terms, is gold road: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2662630/The_Elder_Scrolls_Online_Gold_Road/

I've read several, some older than a year or a few months, and others more recent.
in ESO terms this is their newest "chapter"
I really liked Skyrim and I like fantasy role-playing games in general.
if you like medieval fantasy and ES rpg series, you'll love ESO atleast for the questing and story
you should jump and grab the thing on sale i say
well worth it
@grave verge does eso still have regional pricing
should yes
check for your currency here
Okay, thank you very much for answering my questions. I'll try the base game and then see if I'm interested in the DLC in the future.
the game is nearly half the price in brazil vs here on the us store
(kinda jealous of brazil prices honestly they game for so little and so cheap)
Jajajaja yes
I play on Playstation, the base game is $5 and $26 with all the chapters

my steam was turkey cz games were cheap af
i remember i bought tons of eso currency and expansions and like 6 months of sub
