#Going mad

Why is FF14 out of the question?
In my head a mmorpg should be a totally new reality where there is always something to do and there are many players in the open world
you might be looking for an open world sandbox pvp like albion, eve, etc.
despite wow, gw2 and eso having a good open world, it wont compare to the social aspect and activity of a pvp focused game
I am looking for something with the social part alive maybe.
that said ff14, wow, and bdo are just as social as you claim guild wars 2 to be. these are all popular games the difference is on some games, the social aspect wont come to you if you have no effort on your part. people often would leave you alone to your business unless you go out looking for social interaction
but yeah if you want something super high end graphics, the best features of x and y mmorpg, then you might also be just trying to chase a unicorn: it doesnt exist.
you can meet new people but whether those people decide to talk to you or not is up to them. All you can do is go through a bunch of duds and possibly end up in a future where you find someone you vibe with. That's probably why you are going mad trying to control things that are outa your control. But most of the time, what happens is you just find the strangest people you vibe with outa the most unexpected places..
social is diceroll. If you don't roll the dice, there is forever 0 chance. The barrier you are trying to overcome is knowing that it is a diceroll but roll the dice anyways. Or don't? then you might as well go back to GW2 because it's the only game that you actually believe "can" be social.
ESO is pretty packed too. It has a similar mega server function just like gw2
I don't like ESO's combat otherwise I'd probably give it another crack
would be the 3rd time going back tho sigh
@vivid lichen if you hate it the first time, you would not like it again.
Why do you not like ESO? Is it Combat or Overland being too easy or something else? Both of these games have a megaserver which helps to meet your social requirements.
Why don't you want to continue on GW2?
yeah I'm also looking for something to play
personally I think that's just anchor bias. I've leveled in some fairly unpopular zones like.. snowden and just never seen anyone.
also that seeing other people especially when they just standing around afk don't really make me feel anything
Might as well be npc watching at that point
my experience with gw2 is, it's populated for each race's starter zone + the zone adjacent to it
thanks to the megaserver thing
but outside of those zones, it's empty
in HoT/PoF/etc. expansion zones, it's only populated if a meta event is about to show up
same with core tyria zone metas like teq or triple worm
outside of these events these are empty
and most mmorpgs are like that. zones get populated if there's a reason to go to them (like a world boss, etc.)
I heard rumours of a GW3?
Only been announced a few months back, probably gonna be years before we see it
