i've been testing diagonal wheel drive with diagonal steering and it would 100% be viable if there were more time to tune it

its absolutely insane in the slow speed and the same as normal in the high speed, just harder to control and needs some better suspension and brake tuning.

@wise fulcrum I ran your car for the event, in testing I was able to get it down to around a 1:33, and in the event I was able to run a 1:34. I hope that's a good run and what you wanted out of the car.

I had to tap the brakes on the straight because I was genuinely scared I was going to wreck out, it's a great car but it's super floaty, and bouncy. I think I hit almost 135km/h going around the long corner on the first short straight.

The thing that brought it down was the grip I feel like, I wasn't able to hold any of the speed it had going up the hills, and that's a major killer for time.

Going around the corner on that first uphill you have to slow down otherwise you slide into the barrier so I went up around 97km/h, vs my own car I'm able to flat out and do about 103km/h uphill.

Much much more than what i expected! That's absolutely amazing, 6 dm'd me about it, best i did was 1.46.6, i must be washed (i wouldn't doubt it, i haven't done any league racing in a few months..)

i did specify somewhere that i'm fine with 3 wheels as long as its a '3 wheel car' not a '3 wheel bike' or 'track toy'

im actually surprised nobody else tried it, i think i maybe scared some people away by being a bit hard nosed at the start, definitely for the future i will make sure the rules are more clearly defined, i will incorporate the validator program from the start and it will be much more direct. It passes = its fine, it doesn't = no

this whole event was just a test/proof of concept that went very well!

I did some small stuff, like adding camber and toe to the wheels, but I doubt it did much consider how I didn't really tune the engine at all.

one thing everyone missed was i made my suspension extensio very long, so the suspension rolls into the corners nicely and stays in contact with the ground, its similar to softening an anti roll bar, same effect

and LOMG first gear for launches, shifting at lower RPM, using the games cooked flywheel physics

The only thing I would suggest would be to have a proper tire compound, so we would need to adjust grip with tire size and not editing grip.

The part that bothered me the most was the lack of an in-game check like we had back in SP1. A Judge.exe or something similar to ensure everything was in order. I had to constantly have a calculator, a translator, a page reader, and four tabs open simultaneously, and without any track unlocked. I did everything almost blindly 😂

My car is kinda set-up like this, with a long first gear and shorter gears after, along with a long suspension travel, but it being stupidly top heavy and being both a rear engine and rear wheel drive car made it tricky to drive at speeds, but thats what makes these types of car fun to drive at their limits

or in simpler terms maybe just have all of the percentages in the front wheel considered double if you only have three wheels

maybe that kneecaps the three wheelers too heavily though; perhaps permitting them at least a little bit of extra stats might be interesting to have a reason to consider making one, but without allowing it to such a high degree that it completely offsets the problems of having three wheels

yea it would be very easy to build into the game, i'd love something on the server side that you can use to restrict vehicles, in the same way that i did for this. That way you can eliminate people griefing or joining specific servers to mess about. No jets in a ww2 server, no cars in an airliner server etc. Give the host an option for detailed restrictions/checksum whatever.

select overall limits, allowed/banned parts, allowed values for each part, restrict based on xml modification, certian ft stuff

My computer has a 3080 ti and 32 GB of RAM and an amd processor but I don't know it's exact details. And I am also from the EU so that is not different.
I don't know if these specs are good enough for hosting a big race but as I tested before it seemed fine with five people so there could be something like a tournament with groups of five people racing at a time.

Maybe you could load a "Challenge Preset .txt" the same way we load an image for blueprints.

At the corner of the designer, you would be able to set the max size, height, weight and a part count.

And for actually setting up the parts, you could drag and drop, for example, a V8 engine to an inventory and that would be it. x1 V8 engine for everyone as a restriction with the exact same stats.

It also would work with XML modded parts and chassis. You drag a bunch of parts and go.

Having made videos in the past, I also appreciate the clear and natural voiceover. It doesn't sound like you're just reading from a script. I know that can be more difficult than it sounds.

I've been using the driftwood cup as base for tunning my cars. Cup is better for larger GTs and the touge seems like the best for nimble cars.
